That was great. If I had dime for all the good times LSU baseball has given me over the years, I'd be a very rich man. Thanks Skip.

Will be the first time in 43 years when we "play ball" without the GOAT.

Amazing…sent my 96 camp picture with him to my family yesterday. Do the math on who the instructors would have been in 96…amazing, and they were amazing guides because of Skip

A lot of childhood memories at the box with my dad. Found out as an adult, my dad penny pinched to take me those weekends. Hell nearly flunked the 9th grade in 98 missed every home Friday to hang out at the box and watch batting practice and hang with dad. Skip is, was and always will be LSU baseball. Thank you for the memories coach!

Thanks Coach! You put the Tigers on the map in baseball and started other universities to invest more into baseball.

Skip is why I became an LSU fan. I was young and watched the ‘96 CWS final with a cousin of mine. When Warren Morris hit the famous home run, I was hooked. My dad explained the lore of Skip Bertman to me and how that wasn’t LSU’s first, but our third title in just a few years, and that it was because of Skip. I instantly became a huge fan and started to idolize him and the players, which turned into a big admiration for the university as I got older. Then that turned into being a big fan of football. Then I had no choice but to go to LSU. I’ve been to countless baseball games, countless football games, countless basketball games, countless gymnastic meets, and it’s all because of what Skip Bertman built. Today my kids love LSU because we bring them to all the games too. They both swear they’re going to go to LSU when they get older. On top of that, I’ll always have lifelong memories of watching games with my dad and talking about Skip Bertman.

It’s all because of Skip Bertman and the magic felt in my heart over the games and titles he gave us. Thanks, Skip.
