I don't think many people view Breg as the type to intentionally be disrespectful. He just got caught up in a big moment. He knows where he went wrong and he'll be better for it.

baseballs unwritten rules are so fricking dumb. Having to apologize for that is ignorant. baseball players can be big fat pussies at times. flip the bat or carry it to 1st base if you want. show emotion how you see fit. these arent even unsportsmanlike acts

Baseballs unwritten rules are part of what makes it so special. It's the greatest of all sports. It isn't that he did something unsportsmanlike. It's that he did something (unintentionally) that his opponents viewed as a slap in the face and they got up because of it. Guys don't like feeling like their pitcher got disrespected. He knew it. Altuve knew it too which is why he was in his ear afterward.
