But I was told midweek games were meaningless, win two series, lose midweek game, drop in every poll....

Losing midweek game on the road isn’t what dropped us. Our lack of offense displayed throughout the week is what dropped us in the eyes of the pollsters.

@TheWalkoff lol no, our 5-3 record is what caused us to drop. Baseball “pollsters” aren’t keeping up with specifics for most teams. They glance at each team’s record, then maybe who they won against and lost against, and adjust accordingly. They’re not getting into some deep statistical breakdown every week on 25+ teams

@Forever Gotcha. I was assuming LW stood for Last Week. Didn’t realize we played 8 games with a record of 5-3 since LW’s ranking. Thanks for your clarification.
