LSU outfielder Greg Deichmann was named a First-Team All-American by Baseball American on Thursday. Pitcher Alex Lange received Second-Team honors.

Deichmann, a junior from Metairie, La, went .322 this season with a .430 on-base percentage and hit 19 home runs.

Deichman and Mississippi State's Brent Rooker were the only two SEC representatives who made the first-team.

Lange, a junior from Lee's Summit, Mo, went 9-5 this season with a 2.87 era and 124 strikeouts.

Proud of the whole tiger team! As for Poche, his last outing vs Miss St is probably an indication of why he's not an All American. He's an excellent Tiger pitcher though, and I hope all the tigers have a great series in Omaha. 5 more wins would be outstanding!!

Well, Mouthulcer, he's got a better record than Lange. And has walked about half as many. As far as taking off and putting on Bigtimer, all I said is Poche should have been named also. Maybe he'll make another list. They have about a dozen or so.

Congrats to both. Very deserving. I feel that Poche should have been named as well. He has always been undervalued by the media, but not by Tiger fans! He has been rock solid since day 1 and can still break the all time wins record with two more victories. Geaux Tigers!

I'll give him the "Mouthulcer Career All-American Award". Congrats Jared. He has had a HUGE (Pronoucned "YUGE") career but not an All-American year.
