Leah Vann with NOLA.com reports that LSU relief pitcher Garrett Edwards is done for the season after having Tommy John surgery for a torn UCL last week.
quote:

Edwards hadn't pitched since April 7 at South Carolina, where he was pulled in the bottom of the fifth inning. Until that day, Edwards was one of LSU's top relief pitchers this year, posting a 1.93 ERA over 23 1/3 innings pitched.

He was seen with an arm brace this past weekend against Alabama.

Edwards is the third LSU pitcher this season to undergo Tommy John surgery. Both right-handers Chase Shores and Grant Taylor also have undergone the procedure.

Only injury can keep this team from Omaha. Nothing else. Roster is unbelievable but this is taking its toll.

Look back a few years to Mississippi St when they had the same pitching coach and had 9 pitchers go down with arm injuries.
