by Staff Reporter

SCOTT CLAUSE/USA TODAY Network
Leah Vann with NOLA.com reports that LSU relief pitcher Garrett Edwards is done for the season after having Tommy John surgery for a torn UCL last week.
quote:
Edwards hadn't pitched since April 7 at South Carolina, where he was pulled in the bottom of the fifth inning. Until that day, Edwards was one of LSU's top relief pitchers this year, posting a 1.93 ERA over 23 1/3 innings pitched.
He was seen with an arm brace this past weekend against Alabama.
Edwards is the third LSU pitcher this season to undergo Tommy John surgery. Both right-handers Chase Shores and Grant Taylor also have undergone the procedure.
