James Moran with Tiger Rag is reporting that LSU infielder Chris Reid is leaving the program. The decision is a result of an overmanned roster heading into the 2018-19 season, according to head coach Paul Mainieri.
quote:

“It was just a coach’s decision as far as personnel goes,” Mainieri said. “As you know, we were at 37 guys and we have to be at 35 by the time the season begins. Looking at the roster that we have, with some of the guys that are returning that we thought we might lose, we had to make some tough decisions. This was a tough decision obviously to not keep Chris for this next year.”
Reid, a senior from Baton Rouge (St. Michael HS) played in 46 games last season with 17 starts and hit .267.

If u can read and comprehend then u understand the situation they are in ...37 men on roster, only allowed to keep 35 .he had to cut guys so reid and whoever the second guy is going to be is not pm fault.i applaud his thinking here. If you have to cut two guys, then make sure there seniors , that way you dont have to stunt the development of a younger player.

One thing this kid had was patience at the plate. Will be missed next year. Kid knew how to get on base.

I liked the kid. Gritty and put the bat in the ball. I’ll pull for the Tigers but hate everything about our coach
