LSU head coach Jay Johnson spoke with the media on Monday and provided updates on pitchers Jaden Noot and Chase Shores, who are both recovering from Tommy John surgery, and outfielder Ethan Frey who suffered an injury vs. Xavier.

Johnson said that he is hopeful that Noot can return in April as his training continues to ramp up. Per The Advocate:

"Jaden threw a competitive bullpen on the field on Thursday night at Mississippi State," Johnson said. "And that was very positive."
As for Shores, Johnson says the right-hander is two months behind Noot in his recovery process.

"We're not to the point in the calendar where we can move (Shores' timeline) up yet," Johnson said.
Johnson added that Frey is dealing with an upper-body injury and will take some time to recover.

Ethan Frey, who suffered an upper-body injury last weekend against Xavier, hit in batting practice on Saturday and Sunday and is feeling better since suffering the ailment, Johnson said. But Johnson added that he is "not quite sure yet" of when he'll be available to play again.
