LSU freshman right-handed pitcher Marcos Paz has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to multiple reports on Friday night.

Paz arrived at LSU as one of the nation's top pitching prospects, earning high praise out of Hebron High School in Texas despite undergoing Tommy John surgery during his senior year.

The talented freshman was viewed as a high-upside arm for the Tigers' future pitching plans.

While the Tigers return several young pitchers with significant experience, Paz's exit represents the loss of a promising talent who was expected to continue his development within the program.

I think he had some upside he never showed. If that gets fixed, he's a good one!

LSU has become a pitching factory

It's remarkable that LSU produced this trio in consecutive seasons:

Kade Anderson — legitimate future No. 1 or No. 2 MLB starter.
Gage Jump — projects as a high-strikeout mid-rotation starter with upside for more.
Anthony Eyanson — one of the fastest-rising prospects in baseball after adding velocity in pro ball.
Sometimes, making more money at another school just isn't the best decision!

I don’t mean to be critical, but it seems like you may have left one out.

You're right. He didn't mention Thatcher Hurd.

I was impressed by the quality of his arm, even though he just wasn't quite ready to produce last season. I hate to see him go, but I'm hoping that he's departing because he was concerned about PT because of the pitchers CJJ brought in thru the portal. Hopefully LSU will have plenty of good pitchers next season.

No chest. Les says we don't want him anyway.
