Former LSU Tiger DJ LeMahieu was named American League Player of the Month for his tremendous play through June. Per DenverPost.com:
quote:

Meanwhile, LeMahieu put up a slash line of .395/.434/.658, scored 26 runs and hit eight doubles, two triples and six home runs over 25 games. LeMahieu had a 14-game hitting streak from June 14-30, including a six-game multihit streak from June 23-30. He became the first Yankees player since Carlos Beltrán in 2014 to post a multihit streak of six or more games.

Took me a couple of readings to understand “DJ” is not a position.

You mean, he's not on the IR list 30% of the time like Springer?

I've always heard that D.J. is a really good guy, too. Some of those cats (Cough Bregman Cough) are absolute jerks. Good to see one of the good guys doing so well.

I met Bergman at walkons after a game and he went out of his way to take pics and talk... he could have just said sorry I’m busy and walked off, which would have been understandable. Think your mistaken.
