LSU junior shortstop was named as 1 of 21 Golden Spikes semifinalist on Tuesday. Per USABaseball.com:

Alex Bregman has proven to be a dominant player in the SEC, helping the LSU Tigers maintain their first place ranking. In the regular season, he tallied 73 hits, 22 doubles, and 44 RBIs. In 55 game appearances, he has averaged .329 at the plate and holds a consistent slugging percentage (.577) and on-base percentage (.417). On the bases, he is a threat to any catcher with 29 stolen bases in 38 attempts. His impressive performances have earned him a spot as a First-Team All-SEC selection.
The Golden Spikes Award is honored to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
