Recent Florida signee quaterback Deshawn Purdie has been released from his paperwork with the Gators and has flipped his commitment to Wake Forest.

Purdie played his freshman season at Charlotte in 2024, passing for 1,802 yards and 10 touchdowns with six interceptions. Per 247 Sports:

Purdie was originally signed with Florida, choosing the Gators over Georgia, North Carolina, and Auburn. However, he asked to be released from his papers this past weekend. Wake Forest quickly swooped in for an offer and Purdie swiftly committed after a visit to Winston-Salem.

As a Freshman at Charlotte, Purdie completed 100 of 200 passes for 1,802 yards and 10 touchdowns with six interceptions. As a prospect, coming out of Baltimore (MD) Milford Mill Academy in the class of 2024, 247Sports ranked Purdie as a three-star prospect and the No. 112 ranked quarterback. Since entering his name in the transfer portal, 247Sports tabs Purdie as the No. 282 overall ranked transfer, and No. 31 ranked transfer QB.
