Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn announced on Twitter Monday that Jarrett Stidham will be the Tigers’ starting quarterback when the season opens Sept. 2 against Georgia Southern.

Stidham previously played at Baylor before transferring to McLennan Community College in Texas following the resignation of head coach Art Briles.

He sat out last season and transferred to Auburn last December.
