TM7 plays a lot on special teams. And I'm against anything that may hinder his incredible value to the defense. I dont think he is that much more electrifying than OBJ with the ball that we need to take him away from defensive preparation in order to practice with the O. And I'm certainly not for...
I like Lee, and I really respect him for being loyal to the program. And he deserves all the credit given to any other starter for the amazing year we've had. If he had transferred, we likely arent undefeated thru 8 games. But if you watch him play, he picks his primary receiver at the line and i...

re: Can Anything Be Done About the Refs

Doesnt matter how many are watching. That may stop the blatant calls like PP7's, but still wont prevent the timely holding calls, etc. Rest of the nation would chalk it up to bad timing, or ref seeing something the cameras didnt. But those of us who have lived with this for years will know the actua...

Can Anything Be Done About the Refs

Posted by Chinaski on 10/14/11 at 8:53 pm
to head off whats sure to be a biased crew in Tuscaloosa? I know we've got 2 games to win before, but we need to start putting the word out now if we want the issue to gain enough momentum by Nov 5th that the refs will realize they are under a microscope. No secret that Bama and Auburn benefit...
I wasn't expecting to see that penalty called on us until the Bama game
They called it this week to set a precedent for LSU so it wont look as biased when they do call it in the BAMA game. Announcers can now say LSU has a history of taunting when BAMA refs use the penalty to tak...
She is quickly becoming the biggest attention whore on the planet
I frankly cant get enough of her. She's a great ambassador for LSU soccer, not to mention the university as a whole. Dont think personal attention is her goal in the slightest. I can definitely see a career in ...
He can do nothing but hurt his draft position and cost himself money by coming back. He'll talk up LSU to try and get the Rays to give up the coins, but in the end he signs. And I have no problem with that. He's definitely one of the all-time tiger greats....
Yes, you are right. To us this is BCS title mishap redemption in a way. And lets face it, its not like most SEC teams like to schedule PAC-10 teams, so we have to make every opportunity to smash a SEC team when we get one. This game, even more.
See- this worries me. Not that this ...
Ducks- I know its early, but is there any "revenge" type motivation being talked about within the Oregon program? And I by revenge, I mean the Ducks getting another shot at an SEC team right on the heels of a loss in the MNC?...
I have no doubt Tyrann could be an all-SEC CB. But I'd rather have him continue in the role he played last year: nickel back / hybrid. It will be interesting to see if has similar stats this year after SEC coaches have had an offseason to game plan for him. Chavis will have to get creative with...
DL/OL
I agree every year the lines are critical. But I think this o-line will continue the improvement they started last year. And the DL could be outstanding if Montgomery comes back strong and we stay healthy....

Yeah- LB would be 1b on my list. Baker is due for a big year, but the other 2 spots will have to step up to allow Chavis to do all he'd like to do with the talent on the line and in the backfield....

Besides QB . . .

Posted by Chinaski on 5/11/11 at 1:10 pm
what one position concerns you the most for next year? Mine would be WR. RR is as fluid an athlete as Ive seen but needs to show he can consistently separate from coverage. RS needs to prove the same thing: that he can run a precise route and get distance from the defender. The rest of the...
The tempo is what concerns me. Texas A&M ran an up-tempo offense and it had us on our heels most of the game. What saved us was our offense moving the chains and some turnovers. And Chavis had a long time to prepare for A&M, like he will for Oregon. Hope he learned some lessons....

re: JJ, Miles, and Mett - again
anyone would have been better....there were only 4 others in the country that were worse then JJ...
But they werent on our team. Miles is going to give JJ every opportunity to take control of the position, possibly even at the expense of Mett's development. But if Mett is head ...
Also the first time Miles imposed his will on the Off scheme, and we ran the ball more out of traditional sets. Simplify the offense and focus on technique- I think Stud will show his ability this year....
Oregon game is a must-win, despite what people are saying. We will not get thru the SEC undefeated (when was the last time we did that- '58?). Lose to Oregon and thats at least 2 losses- only one other team played in the BCS with 2 losses. And yes, that was LSU. But the odds of it happening ...
I think the lack of identity on offense hurt the O-line more than lack of talent, tho we did have attrition. Blocking for Crowton's spread is a totally different philosophy than blocking for an I-based attack. I've criticized Stud in the past, but if we have a true, consistent offensive philos...

re: The $6k isn't the problem

On the surface it seems legitimate. A school that recruits nationally would need some help locating talent in areas that arent near campus. Its when these services become friendly with the recruits and their families that the potential for shady activity starts. My gut feeling is that the NCAA...
Sort of strange to see this game so popular for LSU fans? I understand that USC was a premier team back then, but a loss is a loss so I don't understand the luv for this lost
I was at the game- back when UHigh kids used to get in with a student ID. To me the game sums up the his...
