It's that he accompanied Brick Haley on a visit to Trovon Randal, which makes him a booster.

The story said they went to see ABOUT Randle and not to SEE Randle. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats what I read.

Let me think about this from a business aspect. Let's say I hire a company that provides a service that locates talent. The people that run said company obviously know where to find said talent and who to talk to. Now if i pay 6k for this I would expect in some regard there may be some personal interaction between client, business owner/rep, and talent being scouted. I see nothing wrong with this. Randle didn't get money, nor was Lyles given anything directly. He was paid just like other schools paid the company he works for. I fail to see how any of this is illegal?

Lyles didn't say for him to go to LSU. He picked LSU because he liked it, and did so extremely early on in the process.

This whole thing is dirty, filthy, nasty. LSU needs to distance itself from these people. The university, as well as others should have known it was blurring lines.

You can't. If you do, you're out of the game. It's like AAU basketball man. It's part of the game. It's all a grey area.

sad, but true. reality is reality. if it's legal, do it. recruiting is obviously too competitive not to do everything that is legal.

I am not buying this. Are you saying LSU doesn't possess the ability to scout it's own talent or that every school needs a street agent to deliver said talent?

As long as it's legal per the NCAA, I see NO REASON for LSU to punish it's self for no reason. I don't see how it's dirty. LSU is paying for info on hundreds of players every year that companies already have. No way can LSU not do this while others in the SEC do it. it would be dumb.

Complete idiocy.

Travel plans determine "Booster" status.

Fail, try again (or just give up).

Depends on what you are paying for. There is a lot of info we don't know.

How in the hell is LSU going to gather info on every top high school football player in the country by itself ? That can NOT be done every year with the staff LSU has, you're nut if you think we can and still WIN football games.

That's the problem with our society today. Too many people use "it's a gray area" to rationalize things. Sooner or later, there's no right or wrong.

It will come down to what the money was paid for. I imagine LSU evaluates film and camps like every other school. It't my understanding this Lyles had a shady rep and should be avoided.

The bottom line will always be the agents (scouts) relationship to the players and what the expectations were.

I know there were rumors the cat was dirty. I would hope LSU stays away from those kind of folks.

LSU paid the company Lyles worked for at the time. LSU didn't pay Lyles directly. I understand Lyles has since left said company AFTER LSU dealt with them. Lyles was that campanies Rep.
