Which is the greater slight? Bush caught hell for not going to New Orleans after Katrina. Obama will not go to the Texas border as 50000 people are being crammed into warehouses.

LINK

Where is the outrage from the left?? It is ok for Democrats to put humans into warehouses by the thousands??

The difference is - Bush had no control over the disaster itself, just the federal response.

Obama's policies are directly and indirectly causing and exacerbating this crisis - and what's worse, it is at least partially intentional.

Which one involves the plight of American citizens?

And conditions in the warehouses >>>> conditions in the Superdome / on top of the roof of a flooded house.

Apples to oranges

Bush to New Orleans was a one-time tragedy. The border situation has been an ongoing situation, long before Obama took office.

Bush wanted to go to New Orleans but Nagan and Blanco didn't want him there. Blanco didn't want to look like a poor leader (irony bc she did) and Nagan was robbing the city blind.

The Mayors and Governors along the border are begging for help.

One engineered the crisis, the other just appointed an unqualified man to run the agency tasked with managing it.

Which is more egregious?

Bush didn't catch Hell for not coming to NOLA. His visit didn't do jack except take needed resources elsewhere. He caught hell for letting people bake with no food and water and shelter as they waited for evacuation.

That's a meme started by Rove to explain his delay. If Bush needed Blanco's sign off on troops, then he'd still be waiting today because she never signed off.

Bush didn't need her signature just like JFK didn't need Wallace's signature when he federalized troops, just like Ike didn't need the Ark gov's signature when he federalized troops there.

Yeah I personally know someone who was very involved in the disaster response in 2005. The fault basically falls completely on our stupid elected LA politicians. People just need to realize it is the fault of LA and not others. Stop displacing blame.

The big difference is the states on the border are asking for help in a timely manner and open to help.

VB, you and I have had our disagreements over the years, but, respectfully, you don't know what the f*ck you're talking about here.

I do. I was involved, directly, although I was not an important decisionmaker or anything like that - just a flunkie.

Those are completely different situations - the federal and state authorities were at odds over the effect and interpretation of federal law.

After Katrina, the local, state and federal authorities were supposed to be cooperating. Blanco didn't want to be seen as a completely incompetent idiot (she was), and that delayed the Federal response until Honore got on the ground.

48 hours is a lifetime when you're under fire - that's all I'm trying to tell you and anyone else who wants to play this game.

Not DURING Katrina.

He actually was screaming for federal assistance. That shite was all on Blanco.

Yeah, Nagin was eventually found to be a piece of shite in stuff he did after the storm, but he wasn't robbing anything during it.

What democrat management of government made:

If I were a democrat I would be running from Obama. He has zero administrative skills and the world sees it.
