re: JBE's 2016-17 Proposed Budget Critique - I B Freeman
Note no call for ending film credits next year either. He should go to confession for helping them steal from us....

re: Trump - I B Freeman
Trump is white trash and will never stand the heat of a general election. Somebody should buy time now and run ads with his comments on dating his daughter because the democrats surely will. They'll run ads about his divorces and mob ties too. I read that crap about his 25 year obsession wi...

Why doesn't JBE propose tax on government retirees above the max SS payment - I B Freeman
It is just silly that government employees, state and federal, get special treatment on income tax. Private retirees get an exempt on social security but none on private retirement income. It is only fair that government employee retirements should only be exempt on an amount equal to the mos...

re: Supreme Court Justice Scalia found dead at Texas ranch - I B Freeman
Certainly you are not objective. Yes Scalia was conservative but his votes were almost always consistent with his priority of originalism. He simply expected Congress and the President to follow the Constitution. He is an article you might be interested on decisions that might surprise you...
he wasn't exactly a champion of liberty when it came to criminal justice and adult sexual choices
Wrong. He never said, for example, that the federal government had the authority to intervene in state rulings on marriage....

re: Supreme Court Justice Scalia found dead at Texas ranch - I B Freeman
He and Ginsberg were great friends. An objective reader of Scalia's rulings will see that he was a champion of freedom. He often times ruled in ways conservatives didn't like but his rulings were consistent with his strict adherence to the Constitution....

re: Has the film industry completely left Louisiana since the cap? - I B Freeman
My opinion on the film credits has always been this- If the state "spends" $180M on credits and brings in $180M and $1 in new state revenue as a result, I'm all for it. People can harp on the $2bln industry, but unless that trickles down to more revenue for the state, the money should be ...

re: Has the film industry completely left Louisiana since the cap? - I B Freeman
No you are not a math whiz nor do you excel in reading comprehension:
After investing a fortune in the Big Easy, New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson became known as the billionaire betting on a struggling state. Now the richest man in Louisiana — worth $1.2 billion — Benson is...

Link please. Nevertheless we do not give Benson that much per year and we do not pay 30% of his salaries and day to day expenses like we do film makers....

I do not favor the money to Benson either but you are wrong about his subsidies compared to film. We do not pay 30% of his expenses....

re: Has the film industry completely left Louisiana since the cap? - I B Freeman
You say it has cost LA $1.2 b. Is it a net loss to the state because the tax credits are transferable to people/entities who would otherwise be paying taxes?
Yes and if they are not transferred the film company can actually present them to the state and get 85 cents on the dollar i...
