Boomers destroyed this country

I would say it was Gen X and Gen Y that started the slide. They rebelled against the Boomers which caused much of the social change.

Baby Boomers not so much

Nope. We're a country run by boomers. We're going to feel the effects in a couple decades, though.

You think we should be broke. That's what we worked all our life for, a sustainable retirement. You won't get any guilty feelings from me on that.

Meh, Millenials have it made.

They get to smoke weed and play free video games all day long, listen to all the latest music for free and live in their parents' basement for free until they are 40.

Baby Boomers had to get a job, go to college or join the Armed Forces when they turned 18.

What are the odds the younger generations will have any of these benefits when we're 60/70

According to Nancy Pelosi in 2005, Social Security will be solvent "for 40 years" (or until 2045) when saying that pols trying to change SS were "fearmongering." We are fukt.

My Finance professor, who was a big wig at Bank of America, skipped introductions on the first day of class and asked "who here thinks you will get Social Security when you retire?" Nobody raised a hand. "Well, we're off to a good start."

Interesting...so leaving this country with piles and piles of debt is making it easier for us?

My dad started paying into SS when he was 13.

Similar to how new generations are facing ME problems and money the boomers dealt with Southeast Asia and the Cold War. They also had a president, presidenti nominee, and civil rights leader assisinated.

We are lucky to have them.

Baby boomers could get a decent job right out of high school w no college or military experience. They could also afford a house w that salary at 23.

They sure as shite didn't do anything to create that economy, it was given to them. Todays mess is what they gave us.

This is so full of shite. What are you, about 21,22?

Roosevelt, a Dem, gave you SS in 1935. Another Dem, Johnson gave you Medicare in 1965. So, the two men signing those pieces of legislature were not boomers.

Do they not teach American history in high school any longer?

I could completely relate to the millennial complaint regarding baby boomer goodies if millennials weren't absolutely RELIABLE about wanting to PILE ON to those goodies.

And, they largely support the party that has NEVER allowed anyone to even TALK about reducing the goodie train.

Not male white heterosexual Baby Boomers.

If you had long hair then forget about getting a decent job and you got drafted right out of High School if you didn't go to college.

Throw in Affirmative Action as well as diversity outreach programs and forget about getting a decent job that you were more qualified for than a woman or black man.
