That makes Zach very sad. I think I'll take a 10 second weeping break.

Wrong. It's 90% socialism. And the champions of socialism are Dems.

The numbers are there, it isn't rocket science. I was an econ major and got my masters in finance so I don't expect everyone to be as well versed in these things as I am but this is pretty well documented data.

Well, I got my BS in Mathematics in 1968 and when I graduated, the woman I tutored for 2 years got 3 unsolicited job offers before she stepped one foot off of campus while I got none.

My grades were much better than hers so don't say that's the reason she got 3 job offers and I got none.

If you want to claim it was easier for a college educated white heterosexual male to get a job in those days than today, you don't know what you are talking about.

Don't you remember the 1973 recession?

Will be?

They already are.

But yes, you're absolutely correct in that it's only getting worse.

It's crippling right now. We're headed toward asphyxiating.

Ah, you can't read. Try again. Use your finger this time. I said "PER AGE". You may not know what that means. Not to worry, Zach is here to help.

When the boomers were 20 there were not nearly as many fat asses as current 20 year olds. I have a class picture from 7th grade home room. It's 24 kids. The breakdown:

14...very thin, skinny
10 ...normal
zero...overweight
zero ...fat arse
zero.. obese

Do you understand now?

Maybe you didn't get offers because people didn't want to hire you. Not everything is a conspiracy against white men. The fact that you've felt victimized for 40 years says a lot.

True. I believe that businesses should hire whoever they want. If you want a quota of blacks you should be allowed to reject more qualified whites. If you don't want any blacks at all you should be allowed to hire only whites. But that's illegal.

The War in Iraq and the Patriot Act both = anti Muslim terror measures. I guess we should have just accepted the idea that Muslms are gonna kill us and we deserve it.

Obamacare apathy is really a stupid attempt. It failed because there was not enough apathy. The conservatives wanted it destroyed. The moderates wanted Obama Light. You said 'conservatives' not 'republicans.'

Generational jealousy, just more excuses for the current generation

Meh, today you can find a wide range of good jobs over the internet.

There wasn't even an internet or a personal computer in 1968.

Affirmative Action forced many white college educated heterosexual men into trying to get the menial jobs illegals are doing now but if the boss found out you were over educated for the job then they wouldn't hire you.

are you seriously suggesting affirmative action b.s. is better now than it was generations ago?

I'm telling you that when Affirmative Action began, it was almost impossible for a college educated white heterosexual male to get a job with their degree.

I had to move to Buffalo to get a job and my boss told me that if it hadn't been for the blizzard the day of my job interview (I was the only person who showed up for their job interview), he would have had to give the job to a woman or minority who showed up for their interview even if they were less qualified than me.

I had to live through that bullshite. Did you?

He tried to get a job pumping gas but when he told the boss that he had completed 4 years of college, the boss wouldn't hire him because he knew as soon as my brother got a better paying job offer that he would quit his gas pumping job.

and now you get the pumping gas job because that's all the economy has for you, and chances are you don't get a better offer.

Naw. I was forced to start my own business on zilch and have been living off my earnings ever since.

quote:

look, I'm not saying you didn't work hard. I'm sure you did. I know plenty of boomers who are hard fricking workers. But boomers also inherited probably the best economy in history

We inherited the Vietnam war and the 1973 recession. That isn't the best economy in history.

Millennials are huge pussies who don't know their heads from their asses, but they are also in a shite economy. They are waiting around expecting to get what their parents and grandparents got and they will never get it. The great depression wasn't that long ago but it seems like everyone around today can't remember it ever happened, and can't fathom that things might one day get shitty in the U.S. I have no idea why everyone thinks things will be sunshine and rainbows forever

People who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

How many times do millennials have to be told that?

Cleary they both are working since Muslims commit way fewer acts of terrorism now than before the government infringed upon the privacy of its own citizens and sent so many others to die in the desert right?

BS.

She got 3 unsolicited job offers while I got none.

All those companies knew about her was that she was a woman who had just earned a BS in Mathematics.

Since my grades were much better than hers there was no reason why those companies shouldn't have also offered me a job except for the fact that I am a male and she is a female.

My boss in Buffalo confirmed that when he told me I was lucky there was a blizzard on the day of my job interview because he would have been forced to hire a woman or a minority if one had shown up for their job interview even if they were less qualified than me.

When Affirmative Action began, who the frick do you think was being discriminated against so that more women and minorities could be hired for those jobs?

I wholeheartedly agree that the Washington Elites, which is comprised of all entrenched politicians have allowed this mess to spiral out of control. I know that college was much more affordable 30-40 yrs ago.

College costs went through the roof as we shuttered our factories and shipped the US industrial/manufacturing base overseas and to Mexico. That forced more and more people to either return to college or enter college from high school because more and more blue collar jobs were not available for folks who otherwise would have been content to fill those jobs. So the government steps in to help students with Pell grants, government backed student loans etc. and that started driving up education costs.
