Boomers could have ended either program or set it up in a way that would be sustainable instead of milking the shite dry and leaving us with trillions in debt

I got news for ya. Young people = a demographic that votes Democrat. You deserve what you get.

Lets unpack this bullshite.

He says young people vote democrat, therefore we deserve what we get, which is comparably far worse economy than the boomers got.

So you're saying because young people vote dem, the boomers were doing the right thing to screw up the economy and hand it over to the next generation (ie young people)?

Yikes, you can't fake that kind of stupid.

I'm taking responsibility for my own retirement. Will be a multi-millionaire by retirement time just having a normal job, living within my means, and saving

This is so full of shite. What are you, about 21,22?

Roosevelt, a Dem, gave you SS in 1935. Another Dem, Johnson gave you Medicare in 1965. So, the two men signing those pieces of legislature were not boomers.

Do they not teach American history in high school any longer?

What part of what I said was wrong? Most boomers I know are honest and own this truth. Go do some research on mean incomes/housing prices and get back to me.

It's also hilarious you tried to site learning history considering what the boomers did to ensure SS isn't sustainable anymore. Did YOU pay attention to American History? Doesn't sound like it.

How is that insane?

It takes two to negotiate a compensation package. Do you think it's sane for a company to offer something as compensation, and then turn around and take it away when it comes time to pay?

I think the biggest fear of Baby Boomers was that they didn't want their parents living with them during their old age and shuffled them off to the nursing home.

Typical D generation response.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence or for you stoners, the grass is always better on the other side of the fence.

All of us (millenials) are, its your only choice really.

I'm 33 and have no plans to see a dime of SS. I invest 18% of my annual income into my retirement accounts. If you aren't putting away at least 10% you're going to be in trouble, or have a very low quality towards the end. OR be a major burden on your children which I guess some people are jsut okay with. F**k that.

The numbers are there, it isn't rocket science. I was an econ major and got my masters in finance so I don't expect everyone to be as well versed in these things as I am but this is pretty well documented data.

If you want to stick your nose up at them and lecture folks about how many miles you walked to school in the snow barefoot be my guest. But it doesn't change the facts.

Boomers could get jobs easier. There was less automation, but the biggest issue is they were willing to take jobs and work there way up. They would also do jobs illegals are doing now.

Today many gen-x and millennials will not do jobs they think are below them.

When did republicans ban pensions? I missed that vote. But I remember Soc Sec, Medicare and Medicaid being created by the Dems. Then there are about 1,000 forms of welfare all created by the Dems.

If you have problems with cost of homes or cost of living move to a rural area.
