re: Am I the only one who likes neutral site games - SFVtiger
I like them. or don't object is probably more accurate. the competition early in the year is better than a home game that time of the year, usually. national TV is assured, usually a very good time slot. that early in the season it's nice to have an inside game, too. I know it usually deprives ...

re: Stop Saying "We Can't Legislate Morality." That Is All We Do. - SFVtiger
well to some extent every law is a decision about how we agree to treat each other, what is permissible and what is not, etc. to that extent, I think, we always legislate "morality"...

re: Finebaum took up the "Auburn to the East" thing again today. - SFVtiger
I understand that, I really do. it would take some luster off. I don't deny that. but I think the rivalry takes most of the impact out of that. it's a matter of whose ox is getting gored, I guess. and I promise you this has nothing to do w/ playing Fla every year. I'm old enough to have seen a...

re: Finebaum took up the "Auburn to the East" thing again today. - SFVtiger
my point is that it is not as important to others as it is to you. a game that doesn't count in SEC standings is unacceptable not because the game would mean any less to you, but it must mean something more to everyone else. ...
There are some games that need to and will be played every year, no matter what.
there's an element of self-importance in that statement you probably don't recognize. play these games. play them twice a year for all I care. if it's a strong enough rivalry it'll hold up to n...

re: Finebaum took up the "Auburn to the East" thing again today. - SFVtiger
no, I'm saying that playing a game that doesn't count toward SEC standings maintains the rivalry and allows sane scheduling. that it still means everything to the participants. if some sheen is taken off because the participants don't like that it's also not a SEC game, so be it. you still get...

doesn't ala and auburn play a baseball game that doesn't count in the SEC standings? did you care about the results (never mind, it's baseball) my point is, who should bear the cost of choosing between rational scheduling or playing a game w/ a hastened rotation that doesn't count toward SEC st...

another option is a rotation w/o cross divisional rivalries. play your rival. doesn't count as an SEC game outside regular rotation. ...

re: Finebaum took up the "Auburn to the East" thing again today. - SFVtiger
in the sense of scheduling it wasn't. I was for expansion, but it's not the same group of teams anymore. scheduling had to change, right? if you wanted to play the same teams in the same rotation year after year, shouldn't have voted for expansion IMO. ...

re: Finebaum took up the "Auburn to the East" thing again today. - SFVtiger
tradition wasn't so important to the conference when it decided to twice expand, putting a ridiculous contortion to rational scheduling. now it's important to basically 4 teams who want the rest of the members to pay the "cost". ...
