I have a Holland grill. Don't use it much bc my town house has a shared patio/courtyard and I hate neighbor interactions

My dad has a BGE and a Louisiana wood-pellet smoker...but he'd rather a Memphis wood-pellet smoker.

I have had an Egg since '97 and will always have one or one like it by another manufacturer. There is no comparison to the flavor obtained from real lump charcoal and adding chips or chunks of other wood to enhance the flavor.

I have the BGE and like it for the most part. Easy to control temp and doesn't use much charcoal are my favorite attributes. Worst thing about it is the unvented cap that you use to kill the fire and to store before the next use. Somehow that thing gets stuck in place and is almost impossible to break it loose when you're ready to use it the next time.

Weber Genesis Stainless Steel and an Akorn Komodo style smoker. Best of both worlds.

Charbroil Classic charcoal

This is an old old style grill that the WC Bradley stoveand iron works in Columbus Ga made way back in the fifties and sixties. It is a tank.

I had one for 20 years and left it outside and it finally rusted out a few years ago.

I thought they quit making them and about two years ago I saw it on Home Depot online--not in the store. LINK

It weighs over 200 lbs and I love it for smoking or grilling. Cast iron grates and can raise and lower the fire to what ever level you need. It's easy to add coals because it has a front door,

I believe my new one is actually better than my first one.

I have paid more for grills and I have a Texas pitmasters I bought at good wood hardware but none are better for day to day smoking and grilling than this charbroil Classic. Read the reviews.

I have cooked on BGEs and they are good for smoking but not for grilling more than a couple of steaks IMHO. I would not trade my $300 classic for a $1200 decked out BGE

How often do you use both? I have a Weber Genesis SS for quick setup however I often find myself burning and cleaning for 10 mins then forgetting about it another 5-10 minutes before actually putting food on it. I stayed away from the ceramic kamados just for the wife (if she used it) and amount of time I thought it took to setup. My FIL got a BGE during the summer and showed me how easy it is to setup and in 20 mins, its ready. I miss the flavors and I'm thinking about ditching my Weber for a kamado for next summer.

I have used mine for 10 years and the wife wants to buy me something new. If that happens, she better find somewhere else to live. I love that damn thing.

You don't need that thing to kill the fire. Just close the daisy wheel completely as well as the lower vent and all should be well.

BGE owner for 10 plus years and have never used the ceramic cap.

I have 3.

A 22" Weber kettle for grilling and some light smoking.

A home made grill that I use to smoke with and grill steaks.

One that opens like a clam shell I use it when im cooking a steak or whole fish and to oysters.
