re: Need thought on .22 rifle - mallardhank
Marlins are very accurate right out of the box. And have decent triggers. Magazines may be harder to find than those for the Ruger. Ruger can be made to shoot as accurately as anything out there, but it takes trigger work as their from the factory is too heavy. The Henry is a great gun also...

re: Thoughts on Ruger M77 .270 Win? - mallardhank
Rugers are built like vault doors. I've only had one that wouldn't shoot and it was in 7mag. Have two RSI models with the manlicher stocks, 308 and 7/08, my favorite guns. I've had more Remington's that wouldn't shoot than that one Ruger. That 270 will outlive you....

re: Winchester Model 88: Thanks for good advice folks! - mallardhank
Unfortunately sold the 88 and all 100's Bought them years ago before values took off, then off loaded when their values got too high to keep. When I got into them they went for under 200. Also I'm more of a fan of bolt actions. I've had to make a rule that if they sit unused for 25 years then ...

re: Winchester Model 88: Thanks for good advice folks! - mallardhank
Being it's a pre 64, depending on condition and caliber, it could be worth some serious coin. I have owned one 88 and several 100's, really well made guns. Congrats...

re: Do you have a WANT to restore Miles to good favor? - mallardhank
its been a long time coming but I've finally thrown in the towel. It really started during the Jefferson debacle, peaked at the 1/9, and has continued to hurt since then. I go into every game thinking what will Miles do now to screw it up and very seldom does he disappoint. Adding icing to the cak...
