So I get this petite cast iron pan for Christmas under the guise that I make a cinnamon roll from the batter they've provided...

What would be the uses for this lil guy? It's 4.5' across and a half an inch tall on the sides.

My first thought was a single fried egg for various uses, including tartare. Perhaps tossing some chopped garlic. The gifter suggested a single portion of cornbread, but the sides are quite shallow.

What ye say oh FB?

Ive got one... Small, thin cornbread it will make. Its good for single person/kido breakfast w bacon/egg. Its good for tossing chorizo before adding egg for breakfast tacos.... U right on tossing garlic.

Its also good for browning with lesser amts of fat are present

Skillet baked eggs. Eggs, splash of cream, some cheese. 7-10 mins at 375.

Should work fine baking one of those little 5 biscuit cans of canned biscuits. 4 around the edges and one in the middle.

You have seen my bake cornbread for two in our version of that skillet. Works just fine for that. Could bake a bread pudding for one or two.

Surely I have something else. Honestly, the only thing we our smallest skillet for is small cornbread

Use it to melt down lead and make downrigger weights for salmon fishing.

I use mine for single eggs/egg whites ... fits perfectly on a sandwich thin for a good breakfast sandwich.

I also use it for molding quarter pound burgers ... perfect size (circumference and thickness) that it shrinks up to bun size and good thickness while cooking ... without the need for a dimple.

Some places do, although I'm on a sous vide egg yolks kick lately.
