10-15 yrs ago making it to six figures was the goal. Now in 2014 what is the new standard?

In LA? Still 100k. Elsewhere? Probably closer to 120.

The new milestone is a quarter-mil salary.

Make 6 figures. It's not that big a deal, trust me.

We talking about the wife not working? If that's the case, somewhere north of $150k.

I think around 80k is a great balance between job and having a life. Once you start to hit 6 figs, stress and job requirements take a toll on your life. I just took a large pay decrease, and couldn't be more happy about the decision. Working 70 hrs a week and weekends is not for me.

We pull in about $200k and it doesn't feel like that much. Small house, kids, average cars. I guess some people spend money much differently.

If you're not married 100k is living nice. If you are married you need 150 to live nice.
