I liked Scoma's Sausalito but a lot call it a tourist trap.

We went in June and had some good experiences.
For a casual, family style Chinese meal, consider House of Nanking. Go at an "off time", and you'll avoid thecrowd. Just sit down and tell the waiter you want to be fed. You won't be disappointed.
We also had a fine Sicilian style Italian meal at Caffe Sport, a "locals" joint. Casual, almost a dive...been in operation for many decades...very good food.
For sushi, I highly reccomend Zushi Puzzle on Lombard. Excellent selection of fish. Best sushi experience we've ever had. Trust your server's recs for some of the chalkboard specials.

Pelican Inn on Stinson Beach. Tremendous fish & chips and steamed mussels.

Point of clarification...the Pelican Inn is at Muir Beach, not Stinson Beach.

It's the Stinson Beach exit. And for a traveler...

State Bird Provisions FTW.
Newer restaurant and won a James Beard. Fun experience too as most of the items are not on the menu and instead are passed by the table before you decide to order.
