re: Vance Joseph-Denver HC - Oenophile Brah
This guy must have the thinnest resume of any NFL head coaching hire ever. Zero head coaching experience, and 1 year as a coordinator of a poor NFL defense?? Happy for the guy, but this is a reach. ...

re: Large dinner party in NOLA - ideas? - Oenophile Brah
A group that size would work well at Calcasieu. Good luck finding a place in mid December this late in the year. ...
I just booked Shaya.
Shaya is really great for this size group. I'll throw out Herbsaint for future reference. It's really nice during the holidays. ...

re: Masters of Sex - Oenophile Brah
Possibly the most underrated shows on TV. I've loved the character development which leaves me really pulling for certain outcomes. Great drama....

Bougerois in Thib. Just had some from there for dinner at Canal St Bistro on their October Fest menu. It's the best blood sausage I've had in a long time. Excellent!!...

You've got a pretty solid list so far, but I'll add Angeline. I suspect they'll do a NYE dinner. ...

re: Where to watch the game in San Fransisco? - Oenophile Brah
I caught a game at Northstar on my last trip out there. I believe it's connected to the local alumni group. There's a Saints bar in the area too if you're so inclined. Think it was called the Black Voodoo bar. ...

re: Herman To The NFL? - Oenophile Brah
I'm pretty sure he was talking about David Shaw and not Tom Herman. If he was, then I agree with him. Someone would have to put on one hell of a sales job to think he belongs in the SEC. ...

re: Ba Chi Canteen (NOLA) - Oenophile Brah
Place is solid, but they don't have a great "dining experience". I had lunch there yesterday and ordered my usual lemongrass chick with rice. I ask for the spicy lemongrass sauce instead of their regular sauce. It's a really great dish. FYI- pretty sure it's BYOB....

re: I'm getting inheritance in a few months and need a car now - Oenophile Brah
If you're locked in on paying off the car once you receive inheritance, regardless of interest rate, try to leverage the interest rate to reduce the sales price. You would only be able to do this with the dealer and only makes sense if you're certain you will receive the money soon. The intere...

re: Sue Zemanick leaving Gautreaus - Oenophile Brah
My opinion is their menu, and a few other highly regarded f&d board spots, lacks the flexibility and imagination I look for when deciding where to eat. I never said I didn't like the place, it's just not in my top 10. I'm not sure why that's controversial. It's an opinion. ...

Sue Zemanick leaving Gautreaus - Oenophile Brah
I'm not sure if already posted but Ole Sue is leaving Gautreaus after 12 years. Just had a child and is picking up stakes. I'm curious if the failure of the two failed offshoots had anything to do with this. Both Marti and Ivy were short lived and couldn't have made financiers happy. That be...

re: Anyone been to the Caribbean Room? - Oenophile Brah
I went for the soft opening a while back. We had the full menu at no cost..... The food was well executed and the drinks were great. I do agree that they are catering to the slightly older crowd that seeks the nostalgia of classic dining. The menu, while executed well, hasn't prompted a retur...
