a problem with it. It clearly says americans in foreign countries, not in America. Don't go to an AL Quaida training camp or have coffee in a cafe with Mullah Omar and you have nothing to worry about from what i can tell. I am halfway through.

So you're cool with the killing of Americans that are not in combat, without being proven guilty of conspiring with the enemy???

Sure. Show this to a court and I'll agree. Otherwise try to capture and bring them to court. if they resist then light them up. Pretty simple.

It's Israel. I don't give a flying frick what they do. We should not violate our own goddamn constitution.

I don't see the link. Did they "hunt down" ISRAELI citizens?

We are talking (in this case) about the U.S killing U.S citizens.

And, I am not suggesting that the U.S. is to act as any other nation...are you?

Please link me to where I have ever said anything of the sort... Hell, I'd like to see where I have ever mentioned Israel in a positive light.

TIA

What if those foreign countries have a problem with our violating their borders? What if those foreign countries have a problem with our placing the lives of their citizens at risk, or killing a few as collateral damage? What if those countries object to our destroying property within their borders?

Then there is the threshhold for what justifies killing. My personal opinion is that the tthreshhold of actions that justify killing is too low. An innocent association with a suspect terrorist could get a person on the target list. Suppose a salesperson for a food or medical supply business meets with a local leader whom the salesperson is unaware has terrorist connections, and the salesperson agrees to sell supplies to the local leader. Some unknown government employee could put that salesperson on the target list for an innocent business transaction misinterpreted as aiding a terrorist. Do you think that salesperson might make another visit to the local leader to try and get a repeat sale? How might our unnamed government employee react to multiple contacts with a suspect terrorist, not to mention selling him supplies?

And don't walk down the street if your father happens to have been a target.

Who gets to decide if someone is a "terrorist"? I'm sure there is no way that power would ever be abused. No need for any kind of oversight.

First, where it concerns Americans, this should be done with some sort of Judicial and/or Legislative approval and oversight.

Second, what did the memo say 3 years ago? What will it say 3 yrs from now?

Brennan's responses to Congress on the topic were STUNNING IMO.
