My first bong hit was off the biggest bong I've still seen to this day.

same here. It required two people to operate, was a 7 footer. I don't see the point to them to be honest.

And possibly be effected by it????? What are you talking about? Do you think they're going to get high from being in the same room?

Neither do I. Of course, I don't care much for bongs in general. There are just better ways to smoke IMO.

If they're otherwise productive members of society, what does it matter?

I will only vape, smoke off a bong or smoke a joint. I won't smoke off pipes. They hurt my throat.

Nope, if they smoke, they are obviously scumbags.
I mean, you never hear about Teddy Kennedy smoking a bong and then leaving a girl in a river to die, do you?

That's because good old Teddy never smoked the Devil's Grass.

I wouldn't hide it from them the same way I don't hide drinking from underage kids. I wouldn't smoke in front of them though(ie same room, confined area)

Color me shocked that she didn't advance the forefront of scientific knowledge while stoned.

This country has a hard, hard battle in front of it in the 21st century.

Difference is you can drink a glass of scotch or a cold beer and not be drunk. My dad hasn't been drunk in years(well at least not around me), but he always had a cocktail before dinner every night. Now that I'm old enough, I'll do the same when I'm home and he's around.

When you smoke you're only trying to alter your state of mind in some way and that's going to make a kid curious and take a little from your stash by the time they're 12-13.

my first bong hit coincided with my 2nd LSD trip. What a great night.

I'll bet it was...I had much fun on the occasional acid trip back in college, usually combined with some homegrown. Those were the days!

There was a period of time after college when I smoked reefer every day, at the end of the day once my responsibilities were taken care of. It continued into marriage and the birth of my kids. The wife is history but the kids are still here and I quit smoking several years ago because they were getting old enough to accidentally find my stash and I couldn't imagine how I would explain what that quarter bag and papers were for. I NEVER smoked in their presence although did it outside a few times while they were still awake and doing their thing. Mind you, I normally would take about 2-3 hits off a joint and put it out so I wasn't obliterated to the point I couldn't have dealt with a crisis. As far as alcohol, they've seen me buzzed up at tailgate parties or here at home when there is a game on but not to the point of stumbling around out of control. Parents should set an example for their kids and being semi-functional, whether it being from alcohol or pot, isn't a very good one.

You're going to have some shitty parents with or without pot. I don't see why marijuana should be solely to blame in this story.

This has to be the dumbest post in this entire discussion.
