I had a sleepless night on a euro train one time and came up with this......Celsius to amurican.....double the Celsius temp, subtract 10% and add 32.....works out perfect.

not quite, I tried it with -40, came out to -56

Yeah but I need to know the difference between 37.8 and 38.9 Most doctor's orders for antipyretics are to give when temp is greater than 38.

I am talking about with every day to day guessing, not specific like in the medical field. You better have that shite exact

It'll probably take 2 generations for the old people stuck with in, ft, miles, lbs, PSI, lb tons, to be dead. The system we use is fricking stupid.

It does piss me off that many US cars have a mix of metric and standard bolts on them in their assembly. Pick one or the other for crying out loud and stick with it. That shite is maddening.

True, but just purchase a 10 mm socket and open/box end wrench and you’re golden.

6 inches is 0.15 meters. And 8 inches is 0.2 meters.

It's pretty clear the metric system will never catch on if your penis size always starts with a zero.

I’ve got a good grasp on kg and liters, but Celsius is a little tougher. Not the freezing and boiling point, bet everything in between.

I think the greatest utility is the relationship between different measurements, such as the fact that 1 liter of water is 1 kg. In medicine, with CHF/renal patients, it’s helpful with fluid status. You diurese a kg of weight means a liter of fluid.

In a lab the best about metric is that you can estimate that 1 mL of water should be 1 gram.

Unfortunately being in a radiation lab all the units fall apart anyways. Curies (Ci), Bequerels (Bq), Rads, and Rems. Are all kind of the same but completely different.

That’ll work until you get to negative temps.
