He called them multiple times, they'd go check up on the situation and nothing would come of it. Too much trouble to be bothered with doing real police work, like an actual investigation. All lip service, no results.

This happened in a very small town in south LA for reference.

edit: For example a Gay porn star is one of two custody evaluators allowed by a particular judge in LA. His fee is $7500 for the hour or so evaluation. Later he calls the evaluateds attorney and says 25k to 35k will get them custody.

That was probably the worst one. Absurd.

You didn't say what's wrong with this? You just upset about the cost? Or he should be governmentallyforced to charge less or are you a homophobe?

You don't have a problem with holding a child's custody status hostage to the tune of $25k to $35k huh?

Sad story for sure, but I find it pretty far fetched that there was police involvement and guy was able to still live there etc. furthermore, I find it hard to believe it was tolerated by the father and mother.

If it was my daughter and police didn't lock him up then they'd never find his body.

As an example from the doc, if you watch, a mother begged the courts for a simple protection order. Denied. 2 weeks later? Mom and 2 kids slain.

shite like this is not absurd. It's absurd but not an anomaly.

I was talking more about the guy who got thrown in jail for making disparaging remarks about the judge, the woman who was arrested and thrown in jail for questioning the ethics and impartiality of the judge who had an ongoing relationship with her ex-husband's attorneys and the like.

This doc had nothing to do with people trying to work things out. It was pretty much about corruption and greed in divorce and family courts.

I find our whole justice system far-fetched from the bottom to the top, but that's how it is.

It would have been pretty hard for him to retaliate in an effective, extrajudicial way once he's notified the police and they basically just told him to deal with it.

I went through divorce in LA. Thankfully, it was simple, we did agreement without attorney involved. The only thing attorney had to do was file the paperwork. That's it. And we used the same attorney who did it for free as a favor to us. We never stepped in court. We just put everything we agreed upon down on paper, and had it filed.

Reading about these horror stories makes me want to vomit. It's hard enough without the court messing with you.

you mean besides the fact that he's basically extorting the parents for custody of the child?

Shortly after seperating the mother starts living with another man. The daughter is ~4 years old at this point.

It has crushed his soul.

I don't like to share much personal info about me but on I will I guess... and it's God honest.

When I went through my divorce, we too wrote our own visitation. Agreed to so much logic. So much good, for us and our young child.

Our divorce finalized in October of a certain year and the first Easter came calling. It was the wife's day so I made arrangements to come by, see child in her dress etc and provide her a Daddy's basket. Showed up, no one home. Called. No answer. Hours tick by, no word. Monday comes. Same thing. I'm really scared now, this isn't normal. I finally go by the house at 9:00ish PM, Monday night. I can't tell if anyone is home. I'm banging on the door and calling nonstop from the porch, scared out of my mind something is wrong. No answer. Cops show. Huh? She's inside "scared"...

LSS, the police get her to the door but I can't see my child. She's "fine" they verify for me. The next day she files a protection order that still remains in effect today because she wrote and I fricking quote "I was afraid to open the door as my ex-husband was sitting outside our home, on the curb, in the rain incessantly beating on my door and terrorizing us. I am afraid this behavior will continue and cannot feel safe with him anywhere near our home for the safety of myself and ___".

Judge rubber stamped it without any rebuttal in court. Literally told me not to say another word or else. That this behavior cannot be tolerated and I need to think about the long-term affects of such deplorable behavior.

500 feet from address. Still stands today. I pick my child up in a church parking lot.

Dear God.

That's horrible.

The more I hear, and talk to others, the more I realize I guess I was extremely lucky. My kids are now grown, and it's been 9 years since the split. We raised all of them, and never once had an issue. She'd let me keep them longer sometimes, and I did the same with her. Regardless of our agreement, we'd let the kids go wherever they wanted for holidays. Hell, I still go over to her house for Christmas to open gifts, and my kids are grown arse men.

I sincerely hurt for anyone that has had to go through what you did. It's so hard to do, even in a good environment. To do it under that type of stress has to be miserable. And the worst is, it only hurts the kids.

They just don't make women like that anymore. They are very few and very far between. I'm glad you had it easy as evil as she could have been.
