re: Cheap, good places in BR.. - TigerRob20
Can't believe Burgesmith hasn't been mentioned yet. Great buns, great fries, good meat, excellent produce. The only downside I find is that the meat lets off a lot of juice while eating. Can't beat it with a burger and fries under $9
Stick some napkins underneath it to soak it up. ...
THE cause of the decline in EBR Parish schools and the resulting growth in Livingston and AP!
fixed that for you. He must have had investments in the neighboring parishes for new construction or new schools....

re: Older Baton Rouge residents. What lead to the decline of NBR? - TigerRob20
In fairness to Dumas the second phase of his plan was voted down. NBR/Baker cabal outvoted the SBR people and the SBR work was never done. Now I don't know how hard Dumas worked to get the second phase passed, but it did go to the voters. If someone had that plan (widening Lee, etc.) and coul...
Actually, the developments more resemble Perkins Rowe or the renovated commerce building with retail on the bottom and then 5 stories of residential or office space above.
You are right about that, it will definitely be a lot of mixed use development. There are going to be a lo...
Parks are only good for 3 groups: 1. Teenagers needing a place to make out 2. Parents with small children 3. Homeless people looking to get high If you're not one of these, no one cares about parks. Which one are you?
[img]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130905205855/flylik...
BREC gets too much of our money. The Baton Rouge Zoo sucks. Investing $110M in a zoo seems like a terrible investment. If people in Baton Rouge wanted a zoo they would go to the one we have and it would currently be decent. It isn't that far of a drive and it has never made me feel unsafe as ...
This project will send that transition into overdrive.
Exactly. This is the catalyst that will change the entire area. You can see many examples of this across the country in other cities. It basically signals to developers to concentrate redevelopment in a specific area. Which is ...

re: Best Pool and Outdoor Furniture - TigerRob20
Sunbrella stuff is awesome. It is definitely worth the extra cost. They came out with a line of interior fabrics as well. We have that on our sofa, and you can literally spill anything on it and it will clean off. Some cleaning techniques involve the use of paint thinner....
Big difference between walmart and sams furniture IMO
I'm not saying there couldn't be, but I just saw the stuff at the ~$499 price point and wasn't impressed with the quality. FWIW, they don't carry the Macy's stuff in store. They ship it freight, it literally took 3 months...

re: Best Pool and Outdoor Furniture - TigerRob20
We bought a set from Macy's a few years ago and it looks as new as the day it arrived. The chairs came fully assembled (all one welded piece) and the table just needed to have the legs screwed on. We have been very happy with it. It was a good medium between cheap walmart/sams crap and $5k at Po...
I'm in the same boat. I can see it being useful for both my wife and myself.
