Just watched, first time.
Having read all the negativity here and elsewhere, I had very low expectations.
It blew me out of the water!
It was not just ok-it was amazingly good.
Great cast.
Took time for some character development.
Luthor madly sinister
Batman/Bruce great
Lois Lane, with Lana Lang red hair (silver age) and all, was well played
Wonder Woman/Diana Prince perfect casting and acting
Superman/Clark Kent great, too
The quickie shots of the other meta-humans made for anticipation for more
I liked the plot for what it was - plenty of action
Poignant ending, but a strong sense of foreboding
The groundwork is well-laid for the coming Justice League!

My low expectations? Ptah! I loved it, and can't help but wonder what all the whining was about.

You should expect downvotes.

I saw it in theaters and gave it a 6/10. Not near as bad as people say it is. The Ultimate Edition bumped it to a solid 7 for me. I enjoy the film, but I also liked 'Man of Steel'

The only people who rag on this movie are people who expected some kind of film masterpiece or just hate Superman/non-Nolan Batman.

Watched it for the first time this morning.

Not happy with the Batman character. He was an idiot. Superman was alright. I came away more excited about Wonder Woman. She was great. Lex was good. I didn't have any expectations for him but I thought he was fine. A little disappointed in his motives.

Same here. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it did very well at the theaters. The people I know who saw it really enjoyed it. This board is the only place where I saw a lot of hate. I think it's a "normal people" vs. fanboy geeks kind of thing.

I've never read a comic in my life fwiw. I think 6 or 7 out of ten is about right.

Critics also hated on it pretty badly. I thought the theatrical release was a mess. The extended cut was OK. I gave it a 6/10.

It seems as if there's been a shift in the amount of negativity towards it. Not only on here, but other sites I frequent as well, people seem to have come around a bit. Now, I'm by no means saying it's a great or even a good film, but it's not as bad as people were making it out to be.

Lex sucked.

Batman's motivation sucked.

Some plot holes and bad directing.

Wonder woman stole the show.

The rest was ok.

I think this movie in 5 years will be looked back on much more favorably - especially the Ulimate Edition. I think a lot of people on here joined in the initial M/TV group think and are now pot committed to that line of thinking and won't admit the movie is not that bad. The fighting and action scenes (especially Batman's) are great. Better, IMO, those in CA:CW. (The Marvel movies are starting to look alike and bordering on "BIFF!!" "BAM!!" "POW!!" territory)

A more serious Rosenbaum would have been cooler.

And doomsday was disappointing

A lot of the Marvel films are mediocre as well. It's truly amazing the pedestal that Marvel films have been put on.

I just watched it on Kodi this morning and didn't even finish it. 3 hrs long? I grew disinterested about hour 2. How's it end? Wonder Woman was awesome though.

The Marvel movies are made to entertain. For the average moviegoer that is enough.

Finally got around to seeing myself today, ultimate cut.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, but not all that great.

If they had someone else playing Luthor and cut out most of the dream sequences it probably would have been a solid 7.5/10 sort of movie, as it was I'd say 6/10 or so.

The Martha thing would have still been idiotic, and gungho killer Batman would have still been disappointing, but that's mostly overlookable.

Eisenberg was freaking horrible though.

And Doomsday was underwhelming.

On the plus side Gadot killed it as WW and Affleck was a solid Batman. Looking forward to seeing both solo films there.

This movie gets better with rematch especially. Ultimate edition was a marked improvement.

Gets hate because:

Snyder
Too fricking much crammed into one movie
Questionable editing leading to disjointed story (UE fixes a lot of that)
Martha

I think 6/10 for theatrical release and 7/10 for UE is on target.

I remember sitting in the theater with my jaw wide open in excitement watching this scene;

As a DC fanatic, it's stuff like this that brings out the child in me. I just think there are elements of that movie that are incredibly solid. There are problems, yes. But I think there are some things in that movie that Snyder nailed. In all honestly, I'm concerned that they will not be able to find a director that can do action scenes as well as he can.

Ok, please defend Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and explain his plan to me.

I can defend the plan.
The casting, possibly.
I can't defend the direction or the dialogue for that character.
