re: Will Cover's Method - 911Moto
There is one major flaw in the Will Cover method, that being "Never offer a counter price." I've bought 4 new cars in the past 20 months, with combined values totaling over $200,000. If you visit one dealer and get their best price, it is never their best price. It 's just their best pric...

re: Will Cover's Method - 911Moto
I'm strictly talking new cars as well. The WC method might - MIGHT - get you THAT dealer's best price. But you have to play dealers against each other for the best deal. If you walk into a dealer and use the WC method for their best price, leave. Then call the next day and say you got a better deal...

re: Will Cover's Method - 911Moto
I'm not knocking the Will Cover method as the way to act at a dealer. But you aren't getting the best deal if you're not pulling 5-6 dealers from various states into the negotiation. Fact. And I'm not saying everyone's circumstances always allow them to shop a 300-500 mile radius. On my son's deal,...

re: Will Cover's Method - 911Moto
Congrats, he got a good discount. I got $19,000 off my Jag. I don't know all of his specifics, but if he only shopped a couple dealers, he very well may have got $24K at another dealer. Never did I say he didn't get a good deal. If you read the other thread, you'll also see that I got a d...

re: Atheists need to get laid - new study says - 911Moto
I try not to use such blunt terms any more. It is very pointed and upsetting. Instead of saying "I don't respect your belief", calling them fairy tales, is flat out ridiculing their beliefs.
I use blunt terms because ridiculing something that is ridiculous is fine with me.I'd be f...
Athiests are stupid. So are extremely religious people. Life is a living mystery, no one knows how or why we are here, that is what makes it so beautiful and amazing.
Being an atheists doesn't mean that you have all the answers or that life isn't a mystery - it just means you don't...

re: Will Cover's Method - 911Moto
So if they ask you up front about a trade, do you say no and spring it on them later, or just tell them you're unsure
Irrelevant if you are working dealers against each other. All that matters is the money out of your pocket in the end, and they will all work the numbers to help yo...

re: Will Cover's Method - 911Moto
Just posted in the other thread, but using all of these tactics isn't even necessary if you just play one dealer against another. Be willing to travel. I generally use a 500 mile radius and find every dealer with the car/options I want. And there are always several. Then just let the dealers beat e...

re: Car Shopping - How to figure out factory to dealer incentives? - 911Moto
When it comes to buying cars, people worry far too much about rebates, incentives, etc. - there is only one way to get the best deal possible: shop around with as many dealers as you can. I had to buy one of my sons a car this past weekend, and I needed to do it locally and do it quickly. The...

re: Atheists need to get laid - new study says - 911Moto
It was actually a pleasant experience initially just to be in a room of like-minded people. I don't think I had ever been in a room before in which I wasn't the only person that I knew was an atheist. I'm sure I've been in a room with some, but they just didn't admit their atheism. It's refreshing t...

re: Atheists need to get laid - new study says - 911Moto
I joined an atheist social group on the Northshore, but gave up on them pretty quickly. Don't get me wrong, a few were genuinely nice people. Most were transplants to La., so they were all super-liberal Democrats. Whiny arse people, and most were very nerdy/strange/social misfits. I guess there aren'...

I'm 50 years old and have never tried it. Is it any good? ETA: I've always wondered where functional members of adult society get the stuff. I mean, I understand if you're a trashy college student who probably won't graduate, I'm sure you have a friend or a friend of a friend who deals weed. But ...
yellow
Alx nailed it. It's a yellow rat snake. Note that it has stripes running down the length of its body, especially on the sides, as opposed to the more conspicuous blotches you see on gray rat snakes. A lot of yellow rats look a lot more yellow and have more well def...

re: Anyone ever been bitten by a snake? - 911Moto
Dozens upon dozens of times. Just about every snake we caught as kids bit us. The majority were either racers or water snakes, and I'd catch around 50-70 snakes/year in my youth. . You just grab where you can to make sure you make the catch. Worry about getting them by the head after they're caught....

I have the perfect situation. My back yard is 99.7% weeds, but luckily it is swarmed with those worms/moths -- so they can just kill everything then I can start over. :banghead:...
