Talked to my grandfather this morning who has been fortunate enough to play Augusta 3 times (a club pro at his CC in NC took a job as one of the pros at Augusta back in the day). He said Augusta is WIDE open and he scored better there than he did at his club in NC, which is very tight with trees lining each fairway. He said the difference, which many have pointed out, is the greens are skinned down to an absurd level for the Masters. You wouldn't lose a lot of golf balls. The short game would be the hard part.

I've played the course once as well. It is a very easy driving course. I chased my own ball from the only set of tees they would allow us to play from and shot 82. Which basically on my handicap. If I get replay every shot over I could shoot at least that from the tips. The elevation is mind blowing in person.
