Augusta is all about putting, chipping, and intelligent ball placement.

Those in this thread who focus on how a scramble would bail out their errant drives are not likely to make the cut. The course is fairly wide open as it is.

OT: I'd win the green jacket without needing a mulligan.

IRL: Only way I could avoid dead last is if I got the best of 3 or 4 shots AND that old guy who shot a 106 decided to play.

Yep.

Getting 2 shots at all of those things is insane. To excel at Augusta you have to putt well. If you are a good putter and get to redo every putt after seeing the read and speed, you will have a FANTASTIC putting day.

You aren't playing pros, you're playing the course. A good golfer with tournament experience will break 80 every time.

Now, super hard US Open conditions? It would be ugly.

I'd even venture to say that most low-level pro golfers in this scenario wouldn't even finish above 90% of the players at Augusta, let alone make the cut.

I read every post in the thread up to this one on page 6. I read a lot of ridiculous shite.. including that guy who said everyone would shoot 30 over or whatever... but no, it is the quoted text above that is far and away the most ridiculous thing that has been posted thus far in this thread.

I would expect nearly every low level playing professional to be the strong Masters favorite given this scramble scenario.

As for the OP, I'm thinking anyone with a 5 HCP or better is beating 83-85 most of the time. I am a 9 right now and I'm not feeling very confident about my chances. I'm thinking I would shoot around bogey golf most of the time.

This is one of the top 5 dumbest things I've ever seen asked here, and that's saying something

Congrats

Probably not, but there's a chance.

Prob.
And I play a lot.
Course isn't that hard.
Greens are.. You'll 5-6 putt.

What I've been told from friends that's been.

I've finished last to a field with a lot less talent that the Masters. That said, I would not finish last this year because Tiger's gonna WD due to some stupid excuse after not performing well.

If you've never putted on greens like Augusta, that's where your scores skyrocket.

I think most scratch and Plus handicappers could shoot 75-85, and that's on there best ball striking day, a mid to high handicapper, maybe 100

No I wouldn't finish last, my old man has played it 4 times and broke 80 3 of the 4 from the 1 ups, another buddy has played it twice and broke 80 both times. Yes both are scratch and I'm about a 3/4 but being a 1 man scramble I'd say no I wouldn't finish last.
