Will check it out. Downloaded a few albums off Spotify of the Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band. Some really good stuff. Very grassy. I also love listening to the old Hart Valley Drifters album a good bit. Sitting on Top of the World and Nine Pound Hammer are two of my favorite songs. Love hearing youn...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Not sure the number (I think 8) is probably my all time favorite, 5/8/70. great acoustic set followed by an insane 2nd set and encore.
Been listening to this all week at work. Hell of a show. fricking love the acoustic first set. They get after it. Cold Jordan gospel song ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Colorado or Wyoming summer vacation recommendations. - bamafan425 on 6/20/17 at 8:31 am
Steamboat is awesome all the time! But yeah, it kicks arse around here in the summer. Always some weekend activity going on. Town is buzzing during the summer. Tube the Yampa right in downtown. Free concerts. Went to the rodeo last weekend with parents in town and that was a blast. Like most said...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

Entitled to your opinion. I enjoyed everything about the weekend, even the music. I'm not a music fan that has to be super critical of every show. Long as the sound is good, and it's music I enjoy, I'll have the time of my life at any venue with any number of bands. However, for me, the D&C show...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

That's why I'm so grateful for Dead and Company. I'm 27, I didn't get to see Jerry and the boys, but last weekend at Boulder, I went to "that place" you hear about at Dead shows. Whether it is the same for people who got to see Jerry, I don't know. But I got to experience a version of something I th...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

I was about to ask about studio albums. American Beauty is only one I've listened to much. I'm guilty of sticking to live Dead shows, but I really need to listen to their studio releases. Dark Star is like 2 minutes long on the album, and so damn good. But so different than the live versions. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
iluvdatiger
I agree 100% with everything you said. Feel the exact same way. It was a hell of an experience. I loved watching the old Deadheads get into and passing the love on to us young'uns. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

I had a blast at Folsom past two nights. Ripple at the end of 1st set Friday night was pretty damn amazing. "Let there be songs...to fill the air" being sung in unison under the Colorado sky was absolutely too good. Friend of the Devil last night was killer, as was Brown-Eyed Women. Firs...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Vail, Aspen, or Telluride in late summer? - bamafan425 on 6/7/17 at 6:28 am
Can't go wrong with any of them IMO. Telluride and Aspen are harder to get to, but it's the summer and driving in CO is as good as an activity as any. I love making drives through the mountain highways of Colorado. I think you'd enjoy the towns of Aspen and Telluride exponentially over Vail. Vai...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

Outlook is looking good IMO. You sound prepared for snow encounters. Really warm weather last week has kicked alpine melting into next gear. By end of June, it'll be down to just the shady parts of the high alpine. But don't let that fool ya, I'm still skiing. Day 117 and 118 this past weekend. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

My clubs and skis have flown for free with Southwest. I have a soft case for the clubs. I take off my driver head from the shaft (adjustable so just unscrews) and wrap the rest of them in towels inside the bag case so there's not much movement. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

I have a never ending list of ski mountaineer objectives. Steep, aesthetic couloirs captivate me. I want to ski them all. But I have yet to find a line that has attracted me more than this one. Long term goal for me. I seem to find a new line I want to ski in Colorado by the day, though. San Joa...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

East Wall went off when they opened it. Never seen a line of people hiking up that. I passed about 10 people on the boot pack up the ridge. Get moving or get out the way! Led a charge of a group of people down 2nd Notch which is the sketchiest entrance on the East Wall. Always fun on top of the ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

It was deep yesterday! First three runs down Pali today were amazing when the sun came out. Waiting on East Wall to open now. I'd lose my shite if I got another East Wall powder lap this season. Car line has been horrendous. I got a spot on the beach so I'm fine. Lift lines have been congested b...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
