Gave ABasin a warm up for ya, Cosmo. Conditions were great. Got to show one of my Steamboat friends around which was a good time. Got to ski into 2nd Notch. Entrance is normally too rocky. It was just snowy enough to straight line in. I'll be at t...

This April has been the best month of skiing in my life. Just got back from a hut trip south of Cameron Pass in the Lake Agnes area. It snowed 20"+ from Thursday night to Friday morning. I skinned in right when it started snowing and then just dumped overnight. Kept snowing another 5-6" on Friday du...

My roommates did that hike last year. My summer will be dedicated to hiking up and skiing down. Trying to make turns in every single month of the year. Ideally multiple times each month. Last year I we summited peak 10 at Breck on July 3rd and ski'd 4th of July Bowl. I also wanna spend a ton...

Go to the Zirkel Wilderness. I'll have to look up a specific loop hike, but you could piece together an awesome time up there. Camp and bag quite a few peaks that don't see a ton of traffic. Mt. Zirkel plus Little and Big Agnes are amazing. You don't see mountains like the Zirkel wilderness much...

re: Tips on Colorado Vacation (late June) - bamafan425
Except for high alpine hikes with shaded trails I wouldn't expect too snow in late June. Though the possibility is very real. I'd just be sure to read reviews about any hikes you do. Especially this year. We are all but fully melted out in Steamboat all the way up to 8-9k elevation. Running irri...

I can't comment on that. Not sure how the collective works for the 3rd day. You would hope they give ya some flexibility. Hit day 100 for the season yesterday. Skinned up to the top of Buffalo Mountain in Silverthorne and ski'd the Silver Couloir, which is rated a top 50 ski descent in the US by...

I think it'll help season pass prices and maybe slightly inflate day ticket prices. Steamboat is already $1400 for a season pass, and $165 for a day ticket. Can't get much worse for us. If we get mountains added to our pass, then it's a win for Steamboat pass holders. Currently, we only have ac...

Solid spots. I've never been to Big Sky. My twin brother lives in Bozeman, but didn't get to make it up this season. Later in the season is the time to go from what I've heard, but each season is different. Aspen/KSL is making moves. Bought Mammoth this morning. ...

Just hope we get a new gondola out of this deal. And some more mountains on our pass. Trying to decide what I'm buying next year. The lineup could be: ABasin Collective Steamboat Abasin has a midweek pass for $219 that's a steal. Or a full pass with 3 days to Taos for $319. I didn't ...

re: Denver/Breckinridge in May-best hikes? - bamafan425
Lily Pad Lake in Silverthorne if you want to nab something in the mountains. Very mellow. Minimal elevation gain. Ten Mile Creek in Frisco also is mellow and a good stroll to get out in the mountains. We didn't hike the whole thing, but there are some cool open meadows and spots along the creek....

I never have, but I imagine it'd be fun to see some ski racing in person. They absolutely fly down the mountain. ABasin posted a lovely picture of the East Wall from today. Had to trace my route. Bout a 45min to an hour trek up Willies Wide staircase to Snorkel Door staircase then traversed and ...

Think I ski'd the best line of my life today at A Basin. The sky turned blue for about 45 minutes while we hiked the East Wall. We went for a pretty aggressive line to get into but holy shit, did it pay off. North Pole Coulouir. It required some side stepping in our skis up about a 50* degree pi...

Steamboat gonna get skunked again with this storm it looks like. All the good skiing is almost done at the Boat. My off days will be spent down at the Basin or out spring touring. Made 3 more laps on the East Wall today. Leftovers were amazing. I freaking love that place and the East Wall. G...
