re: If you played a 1 man scramble at the Masters, would you still finish dead last?

Yea I'm 99% sure I finish in last, maybe if I'm on top of my game I can finish in 2nd to last, but I highly doubt that would be case.

Or just better than you at golf
It has nothing to do with being better than me. It has everything to do with being better than the actual, real professionals playing at Augusta every year.
I'd even venture to say that most low-level pro golfers in this scenario wouldn't even finish above 90% of the players at Augusta, let alone make the cut.
But go ahead and feel free to talk shite on the internet about how much you'd tear up Augusta with those mulligans.

Tiger was talking about US Open, a much harder tournament traditionally.
Any good golfer with tournament experience and experience on PGA condition courses would break 80 with 2 cracks at each shot.
You people have no idea how big of an advantage that would be. Putting at Augusta is often the hardest part, not thick rough or OB. Having 2 tries at each shot on and around the green is an INSANE advantage.
Being able to hit a safe shot on approach shots then attack with the 2nd try is another ridiculous advantage.

I thought Tiger's quote was about a 10 handicap, not the local pro.

That's roughly 80 mulligans. Think about that.
And no one said they'd tear it up. Just that we wouldn't get last.

I get that, amd maybe I am underestimating it do a degree (though clearly it's a huge advantage and I realize that). But it's still pretty much the most prestigious golf tournament in the world. And you'd be competing with everybody. This isn't a "let's see what you shoot by yourself when the course is empty and nobody is watching" situation.
I'm not saying it's impossible, but highly improbable that any of us could do it.

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw one or two people earlier say they'd be in contention on Sunday.

I'm a +4 handicap and have played in several usga championships .. I think I could shot around par in this scenerio ., a good putting day and it could be in the mid 60s a bad puttig day I would be around 77 or 78.

I'm a 10 handicap but I don't think I could break 80 on that course even if you gave me a bucket of balls for every shot.

I want to play a one man scramble soon just to see how I fare
I think I could shoot even

I've shot -5 in 2-man scrambles when I'm the stronger player before
Eta: I'm not talking about Augusta or a pga tourney

I'm a horrible golfer but its finally refreshing to see a little honest humility on the MSB! My humble opinion....In a tourney setting playing against pro's, one a 1-man scramble, only the scratch golfers with serious competition experience don't come in dead last, and maybe, maybe, maybe 1 would make the cut.

From the lady tee box maybe. From the tips... Not even on my best day

one time on Tiger Woods '14, i shot a 59 at Augusta in the first round without using any of the spin controls

I don't think a lot of y'all know how bad Ben Crenshaw is at golf compared to a lot of people on this board.

Gotta love these threads.
I would be in the hunt and would run 4.3 40s between shots.
