i'm not bad at all. But i promise a 84 and 85 is not hard to do at Augusta. add on top of that you'd be playing the course in the toughest possible conditions in the masters and its very very plausable

I feel the exact same way. If you're scrambling your own ball, you should never make anything worse than a bogey, and to make that on over 50% of the holes seems a little absurd. I mean, even if I didn't put it on the fairway at 18, i could pitch out to 130 yards or so and worse case scenario make bogey.

Well the guys who were on the golf team while I was in school I think would finish top 15 easy while scrambling. The top guys would be in contention on Sunday

I know. I played college golf and there is no doubt I would beat a lot of them. Probably make the cut easy.

I'd venture to say more than a couple of the posters could beat Crenshaw. Maybe not at the Masters, but they could absolutely beat him elsewhere on a consistent basis.

If you went in with the mind set like this, you may have a shot, but then would still have to produce some great golf shots.

I doubt there is anyone here who would break 90(maybe a couple who would break 100) at Augusta when set up for the Masters. Even the college players.

Andrew Loupe and John Peterson were the top golfers while I played at LSU. They would be right there on Sunday while scrambling. Hell, JP made the cut last year while not scrambling you buffoon

its not like we're just going play muni. it would be the masters, at augusta. you'd be shaking so bad on the first tee you wouldnt even be able to put your ball on the tee.

It is true. I've played Carnoustie during tournament conditions and without a doubt I would kill it with a scramble.

the best college and amatuers in the country would easily not finish last. they do it every year. but you're talking about guys in the top 100 in the world. not guys posting on tigerdroppings.

most of the amateurs miss the cut and those amateurs are the best of the best. Just your run of the mill college golfer would get absolutely obliterated on that course under those conditions.

I disagree, but even if that were the case a scramble is so different and putting is so much easier. I think almost every professional golfer would win if they got to scramble themselves. As for me this is my outlook in a scramble:

1 - par/bogey
2 - birdie/par
3 - birdie/par
4 - par/bogey
5 - par/bogey
6 - par
7 - birdie/par/bogey
8 - birdie/par
9 - par/bogey
10 - birdie/par
11 - par/bogey
12 - birdie/par/bogey/double
13 - birdie/par
14 - birdie/par/bogey
15 - birdie/par/bogey
16 - birdie/par
17 - par/bogey
18 - par/bogey

So pretty much worst case scenario I shoot 84 in a scramble.

Having two shots takes so many nerves away. If I just get one shot per hole, it's a completely different story.
