What's the goal?
Getting both is a reasonable answer if it matches your goals. Getting one or the other isn't going to materially affect getting the other.
If I had to pick one though it's probably companion pass. That's just a ridiculous benefit.

Just got Citi Double Cash. Maybe not as exciting as 100k Amex Plat, but I'm exploring Buxx right now. Will replace my Barclay's Arrival for things here and there. If not, no fee no care.

It's not. did you say double cash? You're losing your touch . Cash back? Who are you?
Disappointing tidbit I just realized searching BA website looking for awards to south Asia is you can't fly across Atlantic on AA awards to S Asia. Qatar has all kinds of routes from most major hubs with a connection in Doha and onward flight to BKK on their A380 starting January.
I tried to book it today as I was trying to get to Kuala Lumpur and was denied before I did research and saw that exception.

It is and tack on the ability to replenish those points from UR points make it pretty outstanding for domestic and even Caribbean and mexico travel.
E.g, My wife and I are flying to Cabo for 9k points, so 4.5k SW points each. That's silly.

I see the card as > Arrival. I'm going to use it for some manufacturing and treat it as of its an arrival for rewards purposes.
May use it a bit, may not, we'll see how it goes. Not too concerned about the inquiries.
I got all my other good stuff. I'm a little annoyed with Staples though. Bought $1k in GC to give me some juice 11 days ago and still haven't processed.

I gotcha. I've considered that as well. What was signup bonus?

It's been pretty slow for me too. I've gotten to where I buy 8 a month now since you can load up to $2k per day at Wally World. I usually end up with about 11k points on the Ink per month which is usually enough for a one way on SW and with the free companion pass makes it a pretty lucrative deal for only $55.
I shut down my Arrival Plus card this AM. No retention offer except to downgrade to Arrival no fee card. I declined.

And that Citi Premier 60k is my next with another BOA Alaksa card if that offer is still available in 3 weeks. Might even tack on the 30k SPG Amex Biz card. Then I'll have to twiddle my thumbs for 6 months.
I did talk 3 people in to the SPG amex for an extra 15k points this month so I decided to transfer those in to AA for the 20k transfer to get the 5k+5k transfer bonus.

No bonus on the DC. Lame I know.
This is the action I need to get. I only got one buddy who is receptive. Once he saw me book biz to Thailand he was on board. I'm working on the Premier and 60k Delta bonuses right now.
Looks like Staples canceled my order when I requested wtf was going on. Guess I'll try purchasing again today.
You ever try Visa Buxx?

I'm actually selling people on using it for hotel rooms. I feel like the air transfer partners kind of start to make their heads spin. The pay for 4 nights get 5th night free can offer some pretty good value for 10-15k spend.

If I'm reading this correctly, it's like a Serve product but has minimal fees?

To earn the SW companion pass you have to earn 110k points in a year. That can be through any combination of credit card bonuses, credit card spend, or flying SW flights. Once that 110k points run out, which for me was 6 months in to the first year, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Reward points to your SW Rapid Rewards account to "replenish" the balance. I find it fairly easy to earn Chase UR points which is why I call it a nice perk.

Ya $2 load per $500. Allpoint ATMs aren't supposed to charge a fee but most due at $1 to get the cash out.
You can also unload it onto BB or Serve (but I don't get the point of that) or pay Citi CCs off over the phone for no fee.
Basically $10 for $3 per load isn't a bad deal and hence the double cash.

Ya, I added the wife as a "teen" and have loaded the $1k limit on that, with cashing out $200 so far. I just added myself as a teen not using my middle initial and loaded that with $500 so far.
Rules are basically you can load, wait a week, load. $1k every 30 days per teen card. Cash out $200 every week. So there is a little overage of $200 you have to liquidate another way.
With two teen cards I can do $2,000 a month. By my math at 2% or .02 cents that's $336 a year after $3 fee expenses per load/unload. A teen needs to be at least 13 years old and I think that's the only thing they check the SSN against. So if you have kids that age you are really golden. Can get up to 5 teens under one parent. You could also have your wife sign up as a parent and then put each teen under her again to double up. Seems like an easy way to generate over $1,000 a year in profit if you can do that.

Wow that is awesome. It is a one time pass or unlimited once you reach that amount of points? And does it just have to be SW points, or is this with the SW credit card?
Im going to Costa Rica next year and this could be a huge perk. I already have csp and business ink.

Wow, just read up on the SW companion pass and my mind is blown. That is a great deal.
I just opened a amex open gold business last week for the 75K bonus points. Is there anyway to get this to southwest points? Transfer to a hotel and then to southwest?

Nice. Not sure why I never clicked on that FT link before. I guess I had enough going on to ignore it. Just ordered one for myself. I'll do a test run and then get my wife one.
I'll use the CITI AA Plat to pay. Have you used the phone in method to pay yet? I suppose every couple months phone in and collect that $400 overage.

Nothing that I would recommend. My advice would be to wait until January and apply for two of the 4 Chase SW cards and get 100k bonus points. That way you have it for almost 2 full years.

Funny you mention that because that is exactly how I felt when I read it.
Stupid!

By the way, I signed up for Premier 50k before Prestige 50k. I don't know why every one is freaking out that the Prestige offer is supposedly for a "limited time"
My logic dictates if one of those is going away first, its the Premier bonus. I think when you have a card for $450 up front you are going to have to keep that bonus up there, so I'm putting it off for at least 10 months if I can swing it to bridge it with an expiring Premier to keep the points alive if need be.
