I got the united visa last August so I'm about to cancel before the fee kicks in unless they give me a free year of course. You think it's better to apply for the Biz card first before canceling? I recently got the IHG card so I'm worried about the issue with Chase being tougher to get too many of their cards.

Yeah, I've tried it before and it seems to be nothing special. I've found the best offers from my own cards and then seeing what other offers they have.
I went to credit card offers from my SPG Amex site and got offered 75,000 points for an Amex Gold. I didn't do it yet but wondering if that's worth it?

Just found out AA is doing the 20% bump with SPG points. So if you transfer 20,000 SPG you get 30,000 AA miles. Ends Aug 31. Did this twice already last year think I'll just keep my SPG points as I have 150k AA. I actually want to book some nice hotels in Italy and Germany next year so won't do the transfer this time.

If every thing else is OK to go I think so. It seems like they are really clamping down on things, and having a cancellation before another app I think can hurt.
The whole personal/business aspect kind of puts a wrinkle on that though I'm not too sure about.
I suppose if the business is not under your SSN, you may be OK either way. But my gut tells me to get it before cancelling either way.

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm thinking. I plan on using United in Sept/Oct next year for a trip to Oktoberfest and I was thinking of just getting the biz card in Oct but then I thought maybe if I cancel personal one they may not give me biz. I just want to get there without any annual fees

Hoping for some input on what card to get this week.
I already have chase business ink plus and had a CSP that I downgraded once the year was up.
I use all my points towards travel usually. I was going to get the united explorer card (50K offer) to combine with points I rack up on my chase cards, but then I got an offer for an amex gold premeir card waiving the $195 fee for the first year and offering 75K points. Question is can these points be used to transfer to any travel partners or other benefits? I don't have any experience with amex cards.
