1) I don't care how you win in the SEC, especially on the road.

It's a win and it's good. But coming back like that is big mentally going forward. As bad as the first 25 innings were at the plate, the last 2 basically erase that feeling for most of the team.

2) Home runs >>>>>>> hit and runs.

We must have had 5 failed hit and runs this weekend and none of them made much sense. 2 were with Duplantis batting and on the first pitch he saw. He's been our hottest hitter and you're basically taking the bat out of his hand by forcing him to swing at bad pitches, which both were. One of the two ended up in a caught stealing. Another was with Pap at first base and KRob batting in an at bat where he swung and missed twice already. Thanks to a double clutch and a high throw, Pap was safe, but again, KRob swung and missed. And there's almost no benefit to sending Pap. It's not like there's a good chance he'll get to 3B on a hit or even score on a double. Two of them took place in the very first inning. And PM's thought process there is to "manufacture" a run early to get pressure off the team, pitchers and hitters both. I get that. But it's a terrible approach for the top half of this order. They are our most patient hitters and excel at working pitchers. And it played right into UF's strength: their pitchers' ability to fool batters (the only pitching stat they lead the SEC in is Ks looking).

Finally, this team was bailed out doing the unexpected: getting power from non-power bats. But more importantly, it was too late in the game and we were down by too much to try and "manufacture" anything. Smith's HR was on the first pitch, but Beau and Freeman were able to get into hitter's counts (2-1 and 1-0).

3) Down by 1 or tied in the 9th (or extras even), PM will NOT bunt with a runner on 2B and no outs.

We've seen this before and it should surprise no one. He's done it in SEC play (Kentucky and Ole Miss in 2015; remember the "Deichmann has never bunted in his life" pinch hit?). Maybe I can't remember every game well enough, but it seems like we lose these games in this situation more than we win. I know there are MLB stats out there that show this is one of the few times where percentages support bunting every time. I have no idea why PM doesn't follow the approach. He'll bunt in the first inning, but not the last. It's so weird.

4) UF still has terrible fans and fan support. It's laughable.

5) Bill >>>>> Doug. Take notes, Doug.

Not even controversial at this point. Bill has the GOAT radio/announcer voice.

Yes, I realize the Gorilla Ball days are gone forever, vanished with the wooden bats.

However, I think CPM, given LSU's recruiting base, could do a better job recruiting power hitters.

OTOH, you have to play small ball to win in that big park in Omaha. No use bitching about it, you have to adjust.

I just don't think it needs to be either-or.

I kinda give the Jorts fans a pass on the Sunday crowd (or lack thereof) seeing as their basketball team was playing to go to the Final Four about the same time.

I think it depends on the situation and who you have at the plate/on deck, but it made perfect sense to bunt Friday night. You have Watson at the plate who I assume is a decent bunter with the DH spot on deck. Romero was made to hit sac flys.

It was an interesting series. Friday's loss isn't terrible. Saturday was embarrassing. However it was nice to see the Tigers bounce back on Sunday.

You would think so, but we've seen PM pinch hit an 0-10 freshman in an SEC game in that spot, so let's not pretend he uses this formula.

Florida ran out three starters who are each going to get a seven figure bonus. Struggling against them shouldn't be a surprise.

They are a light hitting team and if we are going to compete with them and others in the postseason, our pitching needs to step up consistently and the bats have to take advantage of RISP opportunities. Move runners over, manufacture a run. If our pitching steps up 3-4 runs could win games.

I would like to see them stick with one person for a while at DH. I feel like Woley has given the bast at bats just going off memory but really would like them to stick with someone so they can get in a grove. Seems like it will never work itself out waiting for someone to "Take the bull by the horns" while constantly playing the match up.

3K fans Sunday when they were going for a sweep is just sad.

I really don't get an approach that would have us not working the count against Faedo, who walked 1000 guys the week before. Or even Singer. Florida's bullpen is their main weakness right now. They're better with Faedo and Singer on the mound than any of their relievers. So why are we so intent on giving them quick innings?

We don't use wooden bats and yes, he should do better recruiting power hitters. Also, give them a better chance to reach their potential at the plate. Romero showed promise at times and could be right by Deichmann (Pap Sucks).

Can we not pretend that LSU won't see a ton of these types of arms throughout the SEC and post season EVERY SINGLE YEAR??? And that they'll have to be successful against them to win the SEC regular season and in Omaha?

TIA.

Also, it's not like LSU trotted out two 100th round draft picks Friday and Saturday.

A couple things... Faedo was much better this week. He wasn't going to walk many. And their hitting his still really bad. As good as they were situationally vs Poche and Walker, they had some terrible at-bats in just about every game from every hitter.
