I feel like this is getting overlooked...

I would like to see them stick with one person for a while at DH.
For reasons I don't understand, people seem to have a problem with Beau being that guy as if he's some terrible hitter. Is he too aggressive? Sure, at times. Will he hit 0.400 and 12 bombs? No. But he's not batting 0.220 either.

he's a guy who swings first pitch curveball 6 inches off the plate. just a free swinger, no plate discipline.

Can we not pretend that LSU won't see a ton of these types of arms throughout the SEC and post season EVERY SINGLE YEAR??? And that they'll have to be successful against them to win the SEC regular season or in Omaha?

Right. And it's doesn't really matter who we play either.

Just in last years draft (pitchers only): 6, 29, 34, 36, 38

2015: 8, 24

2014: 7 (Nola), 14

8 First Rounders in the past 3 drafts. That's only the SEC. There were other guys that LSU faced in non-conference as well.

Whatever your point was it went way over my head

Sorry. Ole Miss has a 10 acre, tree covered area called The Grove that it uses as sort of a central location for tailgating and gatherings, especially during football season and graduation days. So when you wrote "grove" when you meant "groove" I tried to lighten up this thread.

It was a weak effort on my part but it's Monday morning so I gave it my best shot.

No doubt but not being successful against them in March doesn't mean you won't be in May/June. Lsu faced Florida late in the year last year and won the series. LSU plays the same Florida team in March last year they probably lose the series considering LSU lost a series to Bama early last year.

Three true freshman in the lineup facing that pitching for the first time is bound to struggle. They will only get better with more reps.

The top four have proven they can hit against top competition and will hit in clutch situations at some point. Kramer needs to stop pressing. Cole had a good weekend and Dup has been solid ever since his 0fer on opening weekend. Deichmann has been great and is making himself a lot of money this year.

Someone needs to step up and take the DH role. CPM isn't going to just give it to anybody until they just take it and hit for consecutive weeks. One bad game and he will try someone else. Don't really know if that is a right or wrong approach but it is the approach.

I have conceded that every game CPM is going to have to decide does he want defense or offense at the catcher spot so I'm not expecting there to ever be a consistent bat in the lineup at that position which is ok if the other 8 are hitting.

he's a freshman with growing pains to go through. And his defense is phenomenal at first.

Beau has no excuse given it's his 3rd year.

One is a freshman and the other still swings out of his shoes like he's a freshman. That's the difference.

If he's still swinging out of his arse in the final third of the season, let's have the tough conversation.

i wanted Beau at DH at the beginning of the season. But, sometimes his approach makes me crazy. like, swinging at pitches in the opposite batters box.

that said, we don't really have a lot of choices.

they need to let Chris Reid get in a rythym .. was clutch last season and puts the bat on the ball.

ETA: No DH we put out there is gonna produce great stats right now since none of them get the chance to have consistent at bats to get hot. That's on Paul though.

Slaughter is the only real option at 1st right now isn't he?

Also this. Reid hit .300 as a true freshman so I don't understand why he isn't seeing more AB's this year.

He's a tough case. He's a heavy footed guy who doesn't hit for a ton of power. His skill set isn't diverse enough from what we already have in the lineup. He's an OBP guy who isn't as fast as our other OBP monsters.

Wrong approach
Any player can have one bad game

I mean he still hits 0.327 with only 6 Ks in almost 60 plate appearances. Again, I understand that he's too aggressive sometimes, but he's not nearly has shitty as people seem to think he is. The guy who started a thread last week about him had no idea he was hitting over 0.300.
