Fingers crossed, but the MLB Draft really couldn't have gone better for Mainieri...

...than it's gone so far.
To be through 75 picks and not only not to have had Cabrera or Jacob Pearson or Storz be drafted, but for Enlow not to have been drafted, is better than anyone could have predicted.
Yes, Nate Pearson. The minute Nate Pearson hit 100 mph, he was a goner.
But to now have a fighting chance at EVERYBODY ELSE, is crazy. Nobody could have expected this.

Just thinking the same thing. Crazy how well it unfolded for the tigers so far.

Not nobody.
ETA: Also not out of the woods yet either. There are some teams out there that still have a ton of money to play with and will absolutely go the full 10% over their pool.

Enlow has a chance of going 1.1 in 3 years. Smart move for him to stand his ground on whatever his number is. An outfield with cabrera and Pearson is scary as well

Nice Project.
This could get very interesting with slot values and managing the LSU roster limits depending on who wants to come to LSU instead of where they are picked

You might see them tumble if they tell teams they want X amount.

What a night for inching closer to securing LSU's future stud lineup.

Yep. I'll take it.
But I've seen drafts before that seemingly went well only to disappoint in the end.

Could one of y'all give a quick rundown of how the slot value and pool and teams having/not having money works?
Posted on 6/12/17 at 10:53 pm to Schmelly
Here are the totals and the slot values: LINK
The more top ten picks, the bigger your bonus pool. The twins can spend almost 14 million, the cardinals barely over 2MM.
Your bonus pool is applied against the bonuses for your top ten round draft picks and any amount over $100k for picks from rounds 11-40.
If you don't sign a guy you picked in the top ten rounds, your forfeit that pool money.

And slot value for the 75th pick is 767K.
For these guys who are looking for $1.5 million and above, it's just not feasible to satisfy their demands. Unless they're not serious about those numbers in all likelihood most of them will be here.

Certain teams are going to have 1 mill or more to spend on overlsot, so they would be able to do that. Most teams are only going to be able to pay big money over slot for 1 or 2 guys tho, so they have to really like one of our guys to do that. The question is, are these guys asking for 1.5 or are they asking for around 1 mill?
You never know who to believe on here, but one person said Enlow wants 2.5, if that's the case the twins are going to have to make him the first pick tomorrow and spend a lot of the money they saved on Lewis and use it for Enlow

Enlow is the top undrafted guy on MLB.com's board after the first day.
We'll see how he goes tomorrow.

Other than Nate Pearson, we have a chance with all the others.

Considering the Twins will sign Lewis for under slot value they pose the biggest threat of being able to offer someone late a good bit of money.

So, it's essentially possible that Enlow could get paid more than Lange because the twins got their first 2 pics cheaper?
Posted on 6/13/17 at 12:19 am to Simplemaaan
Possible depending on how much below slot they go, but highly unlikely. I think it happened a few years ago where a team paid a later pick more than an earlier one.
Not sure what Enlows number is but the Twins (and a few other teams) can go above slot value to sign a kid, then draft kids who are signable

Seems he is in a better position than college kids. I know he is torn because he really wants to play for the tigers. I was told he even took his senior pics at the box. But I have really no idea what his number is.

Think someone mentioned 2.5m earlier. No team would touch that amount this late but a team could come in at 1m
