I'm from St.Amant, and I've heard the same. Mom is worried that he is too young to handle the pressure. The family has set a number, and if they don't get it, he will be at LSU. I've also heard that the family would rather him go to college first, but we have seen this scenario far too often, and had our hearts broken way too many times. I'm hoping he ends up on campus, but not holding my breath.

Also live in AP and still have some connection to Gator Baseball, over the weekend the news I got for LSU was not favorable, but yesterdays events have swung it more in favor of da Tigers. Not sure I have an opinion either way at this point, it's going to come down to who drafts him in terms of what they have can offer and right now it's a roll of the dice. As others have said he loves LSU, even took graduation pics at The Box, but the right $$, as we all know, can be very tempting.

Would be nice to have him in the weekend rotation and make a impact similar to Walker has in year one.

So what's his number?
He was projected 30-35 which is about 2mil. We're at 75 & about $750k. Even if you double that, it's a good bit less than what he was probably expecting

I know people have thrown out the 2.5M number, but to be honest I have not heard if that is accurate or not and have not asked. I tend not to talk about money

A different poster on this board (honestly don't remember who) has said he'll sign even if he falls to the 4th round, based on the bonus slot numbers.

My powers of deduction tell me that there is belief out there that is number is $500k.

Until you get through 4/5 round it's irrelevant.

Unless guys like Kramer Robertson and Cole Freeman start going in rounds 4-7. Then you need to worry all they through 10 at least, but probably longer depending on the team.

It's really all about who takes them. And the usual assumption is that the number is agreed on before the pick is made. That is almost always the case, but some orgs are worse than others at this whole draft thing.

If he's willing to sign for that low then why did he fall out the second round?

Oh I didn't say I believe that conjecture.

Just trying to put all the rumors out there in one place.

I was talking about the people who keep saying that rumor. It wouldn't make sense having someone that talented fall if he's not a signability risk

Hopefully Storz will drop and we get him on campus.
He was having arm issues but we could use his bat in the lineup until his arm gets better for pitching.
Watched him in last summer's home run derby at Petco. He's got some power.
That's the guy you want getting off the bus.

We've not had a good track record with power juco arms with control issues (the ones that get to campus I mean).

Development takes innings, college baseball is win now. Those two things aren't always at odds, but for that specific population of players, it usually is.

That's why it wouldn't shock me to see him sign for what most people would consider a lower than true value amount. His family is smart, they know the baseball industry. It honestly would surprise me if he made it to campus.

How the hell does Sanders have control issues? His dad is an awesome pitching coach and his pitchers could throw the ball in a cup.
