Depends on which team takes them completely different situation but I had a friend taken in the mid 30 rounds a few years back and he was given 10th rd money. All depends on what each team has to offer and then even where they are picked greatly depends on how singable they think a player is. My friend slipped cause they didn't expect him to sign but when money was what he wanted he did when the team also said would pay for him to finish his degree in college. Most probably already know this info but sure some don't
First of all, 10th round money sucks. Second of all, Cabrera and Storz are both good enough that the would have definitely been taken in the first 10 rounds if they were going to accept anything close to that amount of money. The fact that they weren't drafted means that they declined all offers from all teams who might have drafted them.

Right. Slot value for the first pick of the 10th this year is $137k. If that's a kid's magic number, he was never coming to college anyway.
This isn't like the old days when someone could just pay their 40th round pick $750k and only be frowned upon by mlb.
Someone like the Twins who have a big pool of money to spread could have leftover money to pay one or 2 kids after the tenth some decent money by drafting underslots early and some college seniors rounds 7-10 but those will be very few. I haven't seen how much Lewis is expected to sign for but they used up a lot of that on Enlow for sure.

I think I read yesterday that the 11-40 bonus pool exempt amount is now 125k instead of 100k that it's been in the past.
There are still teams I'm worried about picking LSU guys because the absurd amount of bonus pool they have, like the Twins.
And now, if a kids number is 500k, they're only 375k into the bonus pool, which can scraped together relatively easily.

If they're that highly thought of.
I'm talking about more of the borderline, late-flyer type guys.
I don't think Cabrera and Storz fit that specific category. They'll be taken I'm sure, but it would take a lot more work for an MLB team to meet their number, even with the extra $125 to play with.
But a guy like Cam Sanders (and a lot of JUCO guys) fall into that category.

I can't keep up, and know nothing about the MLB draft. Is the title of this still true?

Not really, but we're still not doing that bad.

3rd round was brutal.
Anybody have any insight on which way Jacob Pearson is leaning?

Everyone drafted so far is going to sign. 99% of top 10 round picks agree on a deal before they are drafted
Edit: not an official deal, just a agreement on what amount it would take for them to sign

I have no inside access with respect to Pearson but everything I've seen, heard, along with the general feel for the draft is that they selected in round 3 not by accident but with confidence they'll be able to ink him.
