Most of the prepared meals I ate as kid, I still eat today...

but these are just memories:

Jiffy Pop popcorn

TV dinners

Charles chips in a can

Spaghettios with meatballs

Sausage in a pancake

"Wrapper" cheese

On most Sundays, my mother would cook roast beef. Later on Sunday nights when we watched television, we had open faced roast beef sandwiches drenched in gravy.

This one I miss.

Canned "cheese" on crackers

Rice-a-roni

Hamburger Helper

I used to wake up every morning and eat cereal. My favorite was Cookie Crisp. I dont eat breakfast anymore, except occasionally on weekends. I havent eaten cereal in 10 years.

My parents believed milk was healthy. We always had a gallon of milk in the fridge. I stopped drinking milk about 15 years ago on advice from my doctor that it was contributing to the kidney stones I was getting. I never drink milk anymore, and only sometimes buy it when needing it for cooking.

One of my favorite make-myself meals when I was a kid was nuking Chef Boyardee stuff, especially the canneloni and ravioli. The smell of it sickens me now. Its so awful- I cant believe I ate it so much and liked it.

Somebody else mentioned vienna sausages- I still like them, but not as much as I did as a kid. And beanie weenie too- I used to like to make it with the brown sugar, cut up hot dogs, and pork n beans- it tasted better when u made it yourself versus the premade one in the can. I still sometimes make this, but when I was little I thought it was great.

Canned chili, usually Hormel. But damn, last time I had that it was nasty.

Chef Boyardi Ravioli - can't eat the regular kind anymore, but in a pinch I'll eat the overstuffed kind. The overstuffed ones have a more grownup tasting sauce - not as sweet.

Vienna Sausage, potted meat, Oh God no!

Fish Sticks

We have fish sticks in the freezer right now. We buy the Ms. Paul's "no filler" sticks for the grandkids. I am always certain that if we put Fish Sticks, Kraft Mac & cheese and English peas on the table, they will eat everything that is cooked with no leftovers.

My confession. I really like a fish stick sandwich.
Sesame Seeded Hamburger bun, Mayo, 4-5 fish sticks, lettuce, tomato, salt. Wonderful.

Asparagus out of the can-I don't think we ever had fresh asparagus when I was a kid.

Vienna sausage-my grandfather always had these in the boat when we went fishing.
...and I really miss those days

Bologna sandwiches. Before packaged bologna. The meat counter guy would slice and pack in butcher paper. cut a single line in three places, which would open up making a wedge as the bologna cooked in the skillet. Serve on white bread with mayo, or mustard or both and a few rings of onion. Can't tell you how many of these we had as lunch.

dude, you're missing out. i don't eat it all the time but i go out of my way to get a thick-arse bologna sandwich from time to time at the local deli.

I made my dad a vienna sausage sandwich on white bread with mayo the other day.
I don't eat chef boyardee type stuff anymore. But for the most part, I eat now what I ate as a kid. Somedays nothing better than some fish sticks and tator tots.

My dad and I used to eat Vienna sausages and potted meat. I ate potted meat sandwiches after Katrina, not as good as I remember.
Canned asparagus was eaten as well.
Also pork and beans and carnation instant breakfast and tons of kool aid
