How does this work for the 1-7 seeds? Doesn't this open up a pretty big opportunity for them to throw games depending on who they would want in the playoffs? I guess they still need the games to get into game shape so maybe I'm overthinking this...

I feel like this is more confusing than they had they just gone with the group stage idea. This season is going to end up having an unwritten asterisk on it anyway, might as well have had fun with it. Oh well, the Pels get to play more basketball. Guess I can't complain....
