correct, and welcome aboard
Seriously though, if you ever need random bouts of inspiration this thread is full of it. I'm not saying read it all in one sitting, but randomly clicking on a page number and going through a few of 'em could be fun

Definitely spent this week working off what was a weekend of drinking and eating as much as possible. I guess that's what you get when you try to start losing weight right before the 4th of July

Next time you have a cheat day or weekend like that try starting the following week off with a 24 hour fast. It will get you started back on the right path and more importantly it will help you learn to control appetite.

I'll have to try that out next time. Hopefully I can just stay away from those weekends all together

Just saw a former co-worker who's in town for a wedding. She moved away from here a couple of years ago and hasn't seen me since I started losing weight. She basically had no idea who I was until she saw my name badge.
Hell, earlier this week a current employee (but she works in florida) saw me and tried to introduce herself to me because she had no idea who I was either. Feels good

What is it about the weekends? During the week, I am on game, going to the gym and working out like crazy. Laying off the fats. Friday hits and I crumble.

What are the pros to this? Is there any research or anything behind it? Serious question, not trolling. I may try it

I'm still struggling to learn how to eat whatever I want but at reasonable amounts that stay within my caloric deficit. I struggle with gorging and impulsive eating.. I know I can lose weight if I go keto and completely remove things from my diet, but I don't think that's a viable long-term solution for me. I need to fix what's wrong upstairs..

Still going backwards. It's frustrating, but I will get this.

I did what you said and started at page 150 and it's super entertaining reading through the stuff getting posted four years ago. I'm planning on reading a couple of pages each morning as motivation instead of spending so much time reading about upcoming racial wars and WYHI threads on the OT.
Things I've taken away from the pages so far is to focus on diet first and foremost and don't reward good workouts with pigging out on food. Also I just got to when the tornadoes in Tuscaloosa hit and it's crazy to think how long ago those were and interesting to see some of the stories a couple of posters were talking about.
BTW it looked like a couple of people were having a friendly competition so if anyone is lurking and wanted to do a little competition, I'm all for it. Just as a reminder I'm at 223 now looking to get to 185.
Good luck everyone and maybe I'll post little tips I pick up from the past pages of this thread

Well, over the past 2-3 years, I gained some weight. I was 232 near the end of May (5'9"). I began eating better, watching my calories, running, and working out. I had not really exercised in 3 years, so it was a slow start, but I am now 199. It took 7 1/2 weeks, but I am not finished. My goal is 190. That was my weight when I left active duty in the USMC. I plan to reach that in early August. The biggest challenge, of course, will be maintaining this once work begins in early August (hs teacher).

Just spent 2 weeks in Trinidad where it was very hard to maintain a low carb lifestyle. Still bobbing betweenbetween 225-230.

Hey, I started a new job last year and from August to April (8 months) I gained 20 pounds. In April, I started trying to exercise more and eat less and quickly lost 10, but have since plateau'd. I am now 5'6/165lbs and looking to keep losing with the goal to finally rid myself of the gut that I've had since middle school (nearly lost it 2 years ago, but gained it back).
What have been your methods?
What kinds of exercise regimen have you used?
What kinds of meals have you been cooking?
I'll hang up and listen.

I am 233 today so my goal is almost identical to what you did.
I'm 6'0 even so 233/233/190 or 185
Did you do Keto diet to do it that fast?

I simply cut out all cold drinks and sweet tea. I only drink water and coffee. I cut out nearly all bread. I only eat fried food once or twice a week (CFA--real chicken fried in peanut oil). I eat lots of lean meats, veggies, and beans. I only eat fruits and whole grain cereals in the morning and for lunch. I stay away from candy and dessert. It is really that simple. On days I work out hard and/or run long distances, I eat between 2000-2200 calories. Days I do a light run/workout or do nothing, I eat 1700-1900 calories.
