That dude was the worst. Only watched ten minutes and he came across as the least likeable person ever on the show(besides Flay). Wouldn't be surprised if he was a plant like Joseph from Hell's Kitchen.

Yeah seemed like it was an act. Unless that's really his personality

Or maybe food network did it to create drama by eliminating him.

I thought the portrayal of Jay was strange.

They just did it to create drama because he is the clear front runner.

Im tired of the constant "Italian" schtick from anyone in the Northeast. All they do is make pasta for just about every single dish and most of them have never even been to Italy or wherever they claim their family is "from". They have too many of those on the show as is. They have Italian shows, sandwich guy, "entertaining", "soul food", and literally every POV on this current series. What they dont have is someone from the place all of Food Network loves to rave about...New Orleans. Emeril is long gone.

Pretty sure that is just how he is. I'm sure it is played up some for the camera, but it almost seems to over the top to be an act. Glad he is gone, he has been obnoxious on every show he has been on.

He deserved to go, but I wouldn't have been offended if they kept him around a little longer, he makes for a good 'villain' on a show like this.

Talking to Jay, he was apparently 10x worse during filming than on TV because it was non-stop for hours, as opposed to the few clips that made the air.

I'm not watching the show so I don't know what person or dish you're talking about.

However, I've had blue cheese ice cream and it was damn good. Obviously, it was served as a compliment to some kind of cake, but it was excellent.

It wasn't all that dramatic when he was eliminated other than his facial expressions and Giada allegedly changing her mind which I'm not so sure wasn't an edit. I thought the middle woman was going to be going home, though.

I didn't think Jay was bad, so I guess he could have been worse. I thought he did fine, not his best from what little we've seen, but he certainly wasn't bad.

The show moved quickly and I was glad about that.

I didn't think he sounded unnatural or contrived even though they repeated what he said over and over. Was he supposed to tell a different story each time?

Agree with all of this.

The ironic thing is that 3 of the 4 pastry chefs that were there had personalities like a back office actuary.

I'd watch Jay (or most of the contestants) before I'd watch those clowns.

Jay did well. I agree they kinda poked him in order to quill some of the frontrunnerness. If that make sense. Lol.

They are all much better fellas than I. I'm pretty sure I woulda told CJ after filming one day to watch the door while I grabbed that clown & distributed a "good ole country boy azzwhippin." No way I coulda dealt w that all day. Glad he is gone. Got my blood pressure up watchn.

Glad Dom did well. Kinda pullin for him. Like the guy but don't see him havin a show.

My favs are easily Jay, Eddie, & Alex

Jay has always been extremely personable. It doesn't hurt he is a damn good cook and smart guy. I'm 100 percent convinced he's made for this and maybe as the show goes on, he "shows" the judges something different.

With that said, I like a few of the other people on the show as well. Sandwich guy, Football guy, and Michelle?

Those are probably my favorite after two episodes (outside my homie Jay, of course)

I agree. He seems like a decent guy. Eddie and Alex, that's it. Jay, Eddie, Alex, and then Michelle are my favorite.

If mama cita can't get her food in order, she's next on the block IMO just on that alone.

Well obviously I have to go for Jay as my favorite, but I also like Eddie and the gay guy, he is entertaining.

Jay's presentations were great, bit that gumbo was horrid looking. Blonde and thick as mud. Why would he try that in 45 minutes? Glad he survived it.

I think it would be a challenge to get a dark roux made and incorporated into a gumbo in 45 minutes...maybe in the microwave? Nonetheless, he should have cut it with some chicken stock or something so it was at least "soupy". He survived that round partially on past merits and partially because he presents himself so well. It's hard not to like him (TV and in person).

It probably wasn't his best option, but in the spot the first thing he could think of. Oh well, he made it through to next week and that is awesome.

Arnold was in town at the watch party yesterday. He was super nice and it was cool to get his perspective on the show.

I saw the options and the first things I thought of were oysters for slimey, or Bananas Foster for incindiary.

That gumbo was disgusting. He is clearly drumming up the Louisiana connection to his detriment. Just stick to making good food, regardless of origin.

He's still killing it. Oysters definitely would have made sense, but Gumbo was the first thing that popped into my head as well...but that just wasn't enough time to do a proper gumbo.

Regardless, he's still Top 3 at this point overall in the competition. Hopefully he continues to own the camera and that he has a keg shell bbq pit for the 4th of July competition next week #thirdrow

I think Dom asked him to do a gumbo... he should have said that it wasn't enough time, but oh well, still advanced and wasn't even in the bottom 3.

FWIW, I still hate okra.
